Just started the game for the first time today. 21 years old, never played WoW before (but I've played dozens of other MMORPG's before this). Always thought WoW was generic and boring because I heard other mmos were just "WoW clones". But WoW has so much more content than any of them. Can't believe I missed out on all of it for all these years. Currently a level 7 mage, wish me luck!

Nostalgia. I was a lvl 4 priest, my first character, in Elwynn forest. I heard lots of sounds and incredible number of horde players were charging against Stormwind. One of the attackers stopped next to me, full geared and made his mount special move. He/she stared at me and i thought i was going to die!. After a seconds, the horde player continued his charge, It was like the meeting of what i was in the game and what i was able to achieve in the game.
@belladrael37519 жыл бұрын
Akiorah And nowadays if that happened we'd be like "I'm not flagged so he can't attack me. And those guys are just trying to get their achievement for the black bear mount and will probably fail. And all that gear he has is just honor gear from farming random battlegrounds and that mount literally costs like three quests worth of gold." And that is what separates veteran players from new players. New players are able to see the world in that new view, not understanding the things they see where every new discovery is exciting. For veterans... we know what everything is. We know the purpose and everything involved. We know what gear comes from where (Mostly) and what mounts come from where and what it takes to obtain them. And because we know all those things. We just don't care...

+Graham Van Dyke I feel you. I first started playing WoW when I was young and on vacation in Nantucket. My older brother, older sister, and I all used 3 laptops from our family of 5. We started the trial together, and my older brother and I went ahead, with me at the lead, while my sister complained to wait for her to catch up. I got instantly immersed, and I'm the only one still playing WoW in my family today. Since 2008, so 7 years of WoW. My favorite moment in WoW, has to be when I got the achievement [For The Horde!] with a whole bunch of random people who decided to group up and do it in 2010.

I have 2 very good reasons because some people hate World of Warcraft , The first is the ignorance , every single person i know and hate world of warcraft tell me the same , "WoW is a game for geeks, fats guys , no lives and social outcast " (You can play 2 hours at day for raid , no more , meanwhile they play 5 hours o more every single day playing LoL but you are the geek for play WoW) , the second one is The suscripcion and this points have too tons of hypocrisy because if you spend 15 Euros per Month is like " WTF ,ROLF you pay every month for play a game LOL is stupid" But them meanwhile spend 60 euros weekly or monthly in other game for complete the game in 10 hours , meanwhile we have a endless of play time. In my experience the main reason because people hate world of warcraft is the hypocrisy and ignorance.

"60 euros weekly or monthly in other game for complete the game in 10 hours", not really, but some games might cost like that....and that's the normal thing, games must cost money.

I'm a 14 year old WoW player, with every class levelled above 60 on Auchindoun, and I have played the game since the end of BC, which was when I was about 7 (of course, I didn't play properly, I just loved the feeling I got when I played), my mam only let me play because it shut me up, and because my dad and both my older brothers constantly played it, and could help me. I can distinctly remember the first time I played, and I made a gnome mage who was named eitak (my name spelled backwards, I thought I was so clever for coming up with that one). I remember getting to level 36 and asking my oldest brother to delete my character (by this time it had been two years since I'd started my mage, between school, being occupied by other things, and general laziness, I hadn't had time to level). I decided I wanted to play seriously. I made a human paladin, who's name i thought long and hard about, when a great idea popped into my head, based on my character's appearance- Baldinapper (meaning bald head in cumbrian) and that's the character I play to this day. Sometimes I regret the name, but then I think of all the memories I had levelling it, I could never replace him with a different character, whether retri paladins get nerfed or not, I'll always love to play them. I agree, it's impossible to replicate the old days on WoW, but playing on a pvp realm, being killed by ganker horde, always playing WSG and arathi, and sometimes alterac valley (even though it's nearly always a win for the alliance, which wasn't the case in Wotlk), levelling with minimum required heirlooms (two 2h sword looms on my fury warrior), running Wotlk and Bc dungeons, or even running the deadmines on my alts... they make me still love and appreciate the game as what it once was. I think no matter how old the game becomes, when I think about the time I spent playing, I will always remember WoW as the greatest game I ever played.

There are definitely some awesome nostalgic moments for me. Thinking back just makes me want to relive those moments again. (I've made one hell of a story about my time on WoW, so prepare yourself for a LONG LONG LONG wall of text.) I started roughly in early - mid WotLK, but I was on and off, so I didn't play too much. I can't remember how old I was, but I think I was 11. I picked a Night Elf warrior and began my journey. I got to about level 10 until I ended up quitting because I was alone and wasn't very good at the game. I later returned because I saw the Ozzy Osborne ad for WoW and it made me want to play it again. I created another character but got that to level 20 this time. My 3 brothers each downloaded WoW trial and we all leveled with each other for a bit, whilst I was showing off my new Saber mount that I was incredibly proud of. Soon after, I quit again because my brothers' trial expired. But from here on out, I get into the meaty stuff. Once Cataclysm was announced and days from launch, my friends and I were talking about it and I was asked if I were to be getting it. I wasn't sure, but in the end, both me and my best friend resubscribed and played it together. We both played on the server Zenedar where I played a Mage and my friend played a Hunter. We got to level 12 and were talking about what we would do next when two level 85's approached us riding Dragons. The feeling that I felt of a max level character addressing me was incredible. It felt like I'd met my idol and he started talking to me. One of them was a Hunter and the other I cannot remember. They asked us if we wanted boosting through Dead Mines. We had no idea what the Dead Mines were, but we were really excited to see it. As we made our way there, I saw the Hunter one shotting everything and said how I want to be like him at some point. We clear through the dungeon, add each other and say that we will get to their point some day. From there on out, we quested and we quested until we reached level 20 where we could get a mount. We were both ecstatic, ready to ride around on a Horse (Ram for my Dwarf friend). We got the mounts and were really happy with ourselves. We continued leveling and eventually got to the point where I out leveled my friend because he wasn't on as often as I was. He was level 47 and I was level 58. I approached the Heroes call board and discovered that I needed to get to Outland. I Googled how to get there and saw the Death Knight mount, which spurred me on to progress even further (at the time, I didn't know it was a class mount). I got to the Blasted Lands and died instantly. I was completely confused as to why I died, but once everything loaded and an achievement loaded on my screen, I smiled and smiled. "Achievement Earned: Stood in the Fire" I realized that Deathwing had literally JUST past and I was stood in the destruction he left behind. I told my friend immediately who asked me to screenshot it. I took a screenshot and he became excited as well. Once the flames subsided, I went through the portal and leveled there. Once I hit 60, I immediately purchased a flying mount and flew around Outland. I was upset that I required Cataclysm to fly within Azeroth, but it wasn't so bad. I noticed that I could get a free 10 day trial of WotLK, so I did that and created a Death Knight. I loved the starting area and quickly fell in love with the class. I decided to make this my main, but moved servers because my brother, who also bought WoW, was moving there. I made another DK and continued leveling. Once I finished leveling to 70, there wasn't much for me to do since TBC was old content and I couldn't play my DK since the Trial had expired. I had my Mum take me to GAME where I got Wrath of the Lich King and continued my Journey. Leveling through Northrend, I reached the end of Dragon Blight questing and, of course, watched the Wrath Gate cinematic. It was amazing and I loved every bit of it. I was confused when Alexstraza whispered to me, but didn't give a quest or anything, but it was late at night, so I just logged off and went to bed. I later reached the next level cap; 80. At some point, I saw a group advertising an Eye of Eternity run. I sent a message asking to join and unbelievably, I was accepted. The people in the group were 85's, so the boss went down fairly quickly, and I didn't last long either, but I got my first tiny glimpse of raiding and I was jumping in my chair. I eventually got Cataclysm and leveled through that and was really excited when I finally hit level 85. Although I was at a loss since I hadn't really talked to anyone besides my friends who hadn't played WoW yet or had quit. I did some dungeons, tried to get into some raids, but my item level was too poor, but every time I tried getting into a group to raise it, I was kicked out it was too low. I went into dungeons to try and raise my item level more, but nothing dropped that I needed. I tried getting into another raid, which surprisingly I got into. The leader understood my position and decided to give me a hand and let me in. I thanked him and we did the raid. I didn't get anything, but the experience was still awesome. I later branched out of PvE and switched to PvP which I got full Honor Gear in. I thought I was untouchable (little did I know that Blood DK was 'slightly' OP at that time) so did PvP for another long while. I can't remember much after that bit, but when MoP came out, I wasn't as excited as I was for the others, but I was still excited. I got through Jade Forest which was good, Valley of the Four Winds which I didn't particularly like, Kun-Lai Summit, which I found much better than the second zone, the other one I can't remember, which was a little worse, but alright, and the fucking piece of shit Dread FUCKING Wastes. Needless to say, I hated this zone, but I got through it. Once I hit level cap, I did Dungeons, Heroics, then LFR and PvP. Me and my brother started to do our first Arenas which we didn't fare too well in; we had some terrible matches where we were slaughtered. But then, we had an amazing match. For the people in EU, you will know how serious this is. We beat Russians. It was a struggle, but we beat their asses to the ground and secured ourselves a few pieces of Prideful Gear. We were on and off WoW at this point, but when 6.0 pre patch came out, we did one Normal SoO (which wasn't hard at all because of the gear other people had), and experienced a bit of normal raiding. Two weeks after WoD had released, I could finally play WoW and I really loved the questing. The lore was interesting, the Cinematics were awesome, it was great. Once we hit 100, me and my brother did some dungeons, heroics, LFR and PvP, essentially the same as MoP. We tried to do Normal raids instead of LFR, but even though we had the required item level, there wasn't a single group that allowed us into the raid. This put us off raiding for a while and we just did LFR and back to PvP. At this point we were on and off, my friend left because he just gets mad at the game for PvP unbalancing, my brother's PC broke, etc. I will say that WoW has made some incredibly memories with me and while it's not in the greatest state at the moment, I hope that I can feel something similar to what I felt when WoW was new to me; when I was most enjoying myself. I'm currently subscribed and would like to make the best of this expansion. I want to see the normal raids. I want to see Heroic and Mythic raids (maybe Mythic is pushing it). I want to finally raid outside of LFR. I want to be a part of a raiding guild. I want to achieve something in WoW because much that I have done have either been mediocre or just plain easy (except beating the Russians. That was fucking hard.) I want WoW to give me the feeling that I had before. If you got this far, then I appreciate you reading about my time on WoW. I didn't realize how much text I had wrote until I had finished. I guess I got carried away talking about my past on WoW. Why not share some of your stories because I'd be happy to hear them!

The boat to menethil harbor, the dangers of the wetlands( dammn crocs) beingh escorted by an higher level player and then eventually reaching the safe tunnels of Loch Modan. I will never forget that feeling of scale it was so mind blowing and by far one of the best experiences ever in wow for me. Some ideas why people Hate World of Warcraft top of my head: -Grinding - So many people quit before they could reach end-game content because of long, lacklustre, grinding. -Good old fallacy "Stop liking what I don't like". This person doesn't like Warcraft universe, genre or never even tried it. Hence he/she hates that so many other people do and that he/she is part of the minority. This is a similar thing within the community of other franchises such as Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter for instance. -Expansions are NOT free - This is a huge hold back for many people. It's hard to convince a modern gamer as it is to pay a monthly fee for the game, but they also have to pay EXTRA equally high price for the end game content. Many people including myself believe that if you are paying a monthly fee, the updates such as Expansions might as well be free specially in the modern age. Myself personally horribly regret purchasing Mists of Pandaria for €59.99 due to change in theme, I despised the new "Disney"-like atmosphere in WoW. Cinematic was a joke (literally). Some raids such as where you had to ride on the barrels I couldn't take seriously at all. That was not the WoW I enjoyed for years. I quit in less than a month and never came back for the lifespan of that expansion. -Game became too easy - In the past you felt the sense of achievement when you got your first Epic Mount. You felt proud that you gathered people to kill an Elite mob or found and clear a Dungeon with them. Mobs felt somewhat threatening, since you didn't kill them in 1-2 hits. Now, it is overly simplified which feels insulting, as if the developers afraid of complexity, when that complexity is what raises the interest of the game. -Flying everywhere - I still think that was a stupid decision. Yes it's convenient, but WoW zones feel extremely empty now. That is very noticeable when you are questing.

One reason I know of why people hate wow is because it has the ability to easily consume people's lives. I remember my first time experiencing World of Warcraft was when my friend back in High school told me to try it out while I still can, and I always denied his request because I thought WoW was for noobs. So one day I accepted his request and downloaded WoW. My first character was an undead warlock, because I'm a huge fan of warlocks and how they function in fantasies. After getting my character to lvl 15, I turned off the game and remind myself that this game was for nerds and I shouldn't be part of it. But little do I know my eagerness to continue adventuring with my warlock slowly came back to me. There were so many adventures that will be remained undiscovered if I don't come back, and by god, it was tearing me apart from the inside. I went back to WoW and continue my adventure with my warlock. From dungeons, to raids, roleplay to pvp, I was in love with WoW, but mostly my character. Even if I've never played the first 2 Warcraft games and a little on Warcraft 3, I still understand what and how World of Warcraft began. I got the chance to know more about Thrall, Slyvanas, the Lich King, and more back then. It gave my toon a purpose. Out of all the MMOs I've played in my life, WoW is the only MMO that has given me reasons why I should continue to adventure in Azeroth.

I find it ironic that the first point was that most players can't afford high end or at least decent computers to run other MMO-RPGs and thus making WoW successful because it doesn't require alot, when Blizzard is charging us monthly, about 60 dollars per expansion, and constantly adding unique mounts and pets onto the store which usually range from 15-25 dollars. Of course the store content isn't required, but it gets annoying when the only unique content being put into this expansion (aside from raids I guess) is on the store it gets really frustrating. Don't get me wrong I agree with the first point of WoW being easy to run on most computers but I find it equally annoying when Blizzard charges us monthly and have the nerve to put all the cool shit on a store for more money.
@tomam11009 жыл бұрын
Omg, the word ironic brings me back the memmories of the player from my guild called Yrony. Each time I said "How ironic" or something like that he would come online and we would talk about all sorts of random bullshit. Saddly he stopped logging on and I've only talked to him through the in-game mail as he would rarely log on to check how's it going. I still remember that the name of the guild we were in was The Invincible Void. As I stopped playing I lost all contacts with him and everytime I mention the word "Irony" I always look at the bottom right of the computer to hope a yellow message that days "Yrony has come online" would appear
@Primalxbeast9 жыл бұрын
Karmanade It is annoying that they charge people to get in game stuff when the game is subscription based, especially when they're using the Blizz store to make up for profits lost because so many people are leaving because of poor content instead of improving the content to keep people from leaving, but 50 cents per day isn't that much considering how many hours people spend playing. There's always the game token for people who really can't afford the $15/month, but I prefer to avoid that since it gives Blizz more money that I don't feel they deserve atm.

***** You have to realize that Blizzard have had Warlords in development before we were close to hearing about it, even as we play Warlords they have teams working on the next expansion. So some where down the line of Warlords' development Blizzard saw the gap in content and said it should be fine because they had all these Store mounts lined up in that gap. The whole Warlords expansion relies on Garrisons to keep people entertained.

A reason why people hate it? WoW is getting old, and it's starting to show. The constant drop of subs since Wrath, Blizz beginning to run out of pre-existing lore to use in new expansions, and its hotkey combat system. For some, pressing the 1, 2 and 3 keys over and over again isn't enough for them anymore. It's baffling how long WoW has stayed alive (eleven years, holy sh*t) but with an MMO as large as WoW, it can't last forever. Now, I'm not one of those guys who you can see shouting "WOW IS DEAD" from the rooftops, as that statement isn't true. WoW isn't dead...yet. But the day will come when the next groundbreaking MMO comes out, and everyone begins to play it instead. Unless of course I'm wrong, and WoW becomes immortal like The Simpsons.

I remember my first experience with WoW. I used to watch my cousin play it back when he started in Wrath and would get really excited about it just by sitting behind him and watching him play. Eventually, a friend of my cousin's offered to let me try a character on his account to get a feel of the game, since I also wasn't allowed it back then. It was a low level night elf druid that he let me play on, and I remember being such a noob that I kept dying to murlocs. But that was how I began to love the night elf race and druid class. The lore is also what drove me towards the game, and I soon became such a lore freak. After finally convincing my mom to let me have my own account, I remember creating my first character right at the start of Cataclysm; my night elf druid who remains my main character to this day. The starting zone, Teldrassil, will always have a special place in my heart, and whenever I hear the zone's music, it never fails to put a huge smile on my face. Such beautiful music to listen to...Jeez, I feel old when I play now and feel nostalgic, and I'm not even that old! Anyone remember when the druid spell 'Wrath' used to be green and not brown? XD

I think some people hate wow because of the levelling. Monotonousley doing a task over and over can get boring pretty quickly. That being said, if you are far through it and you think of the progression and how far you have come and how far you have to go, levelling becomes less of a task. You get used to it

Nostalgia is my number 1 reason. It feels different being older and playing the game compared to being naive and young. Its been part of my life from vanilla all the way to now but i dont get the same feeling playing now as opposed to then, probably cause I actually understand more than i did back then. When i was young I was that player that hardly ever did dungeons and almost always quested where ever they took me. When I started wow most of my friends didn't want to play it because the graphics were to "bad" but I was convinced that it was a great game. So I went out there to check out the trial and made an account. I created a Blood elf Hunter and was first confused as to what my purpose was and how I was supposed to do these things. But there was always a great community to help me out with my problems. I only had to get to level 7 to see the true wonders of World of Warcraft and the things that you could do in the game. After that I spent way too much time playing it and I still play it. Now this kids... is how I started with World of Warcraft

Yknow Peon, you are one of the main reasons as to why I decided to join an RP server. They sound like a lot of fun, and having had joined an RP server I can say that I don't regret it. Just by leveling and wandering around just anywhere in the game, I see people. You'd think it wasn't a big deal to see people, but as someone who has played in both PvP and PvE servers, I can tell you it is a huge difference since no one seems to bother with old leveling zones anymore, except the RPers to :) and that's why I think RPers are awesome. Also thnx for #5! That is my main reason for playing WoW. I can't get enough of that stuff.

#1 is so true... I started playing WoW on a private server when I was 8. I gathered some of my mates and we leveled together. I remember us always struggeling on the 2 Orc-Bosses in the fortress in the Redridge mountains. A few years later me and my mates made plans to create 5 Worgen, when Cataclysm came out. And we sat around for over 3 hours just imagining the adventures we would have... Good old times...

I was pretty young when I convinced my dad to buy me WoW, it was in the middle of WotLK. I said that some of my friends were playing it and it sounded so cool! We bought it, downloaded it (which took a very long time compared to what it takes now), and made my account. I was so extremely excited when I was about to log in for the first time. I then created my first character which was a troll hunter (my friend played it so I chose it) and I named him "Worldwarrior" (silly name for a hunter, I know) And I logged in. At first I wasn't really that amazed because to be honest, Valley of Trials wasn't the prettiest place in WoW. I leveled a bit with my friend but I was eager to see more than just the deserts of Durotar. So when we weren't playing together I logged in and started creating a new character. At first I couldn't choose but after a while I got pretty attached to night elves because they looked strong and proud. So I chose a night elf, male warrior because I loved swords at the time. And named him Warmaner (A little cooler than the other but also rather silly). Then I clicked 'Enter World' with the excitment of a horny teen watching porn for the first time. BOOM! I was inside the World of Warcraft for the second time. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the trees of Teldrassil for the first time. And the purple color they expressed. Then I heard the night elf soundtrack in the background when I was playing. To be honest I didn't really notice it because I was so into the game already but the music just nailed it for me. Then just exploring this GIANT tree was enough for me. I was hooked! That was my first "WOW!" feeling. I think a lot of people can relate! I love this game and I just wish that Blizzard could bring me that feeling again now that I understand the game thoroughly. I even learned most of my english by playing WoW, atleast it increased my knowledge of the language. Personally I think that Blizzard has become a bit lazy but at the same time they've already used up a lot of ideas and features and it's hard to come up with new ones. That's how I felt when playing WoW for the first time, anyone with similar stories?

Playing WoW for the first time and leveling my first character was the best. As stupid as it may sound being a noob was the funnest experience i ever had in WoW. You experience feelings you never would as an experienced player. Sheer scale of the world and being amazed at almost everything that happened in a game. Leveling up 1 level and gaining a new ability/talent was epic unlike when u have played for a while it becomes normal.

the people do make it. I started playing in 2006 and played a lot, even if I didn't get what was going on. I quit but would come back every few months when I'd become depressed, have a gap in employment, or have any time off. I've been subbed continuously since July 2014 because I've found a great guild of friendly people. They make the game fun.
@TheRunesmythe9 жыл бұрын
Watching this video, I found it interesting that you talked so much about nostalgia and recapturing that feeling people had playing the game for the first time. I quit WoW in 2013 after going through 3 expansions (Wrath of the Lich King will always remain my all time favorite) not because I was bored or disillusioned but because the upcoming content didn't really seem appealing to me for a number of reasons. I considered coming back when Warlords was announced because the idea of the expansion was something that struck a chord with me, and I can't help wondering if the concept of traveling back in time was the developers' way of trying to recapture that same feeling from the first days of the game. Having seen the teaser for Legion, I'm now actually in the process of returning (I say process because I needed a new pc and am waiting for it to arrive, but in the meanwhile I've dug out the old game discs and reactivated my account) and I feel genuinely excited about returning. I very much doubt that I feel disappointed because of one reason; no matter what else WoW may have been as it evolved, it was always fun for me. I honestly believe that if you peel away all those layers of expectation (and sometimes the feeling of entitlement that many of us have had about the game at one time or another) and look at it from that original viewpoint of fun, it's fairly easy to recapture that feeling you had when everything seemed "new" and "exciting". Even when it's come to expansions I didn't particularly care for (the Burning Crusade tops that list) I've still felt that same sense of fun because the game allows you to do and see things you'd never experience otherwise; as awesome as the idea might be, we're not going to don armor and pick weapons, or master magic, then go explore a brand new world. Instead, what we have is what our imagination provides us with and WoW is an excellent engine for both supplying and enabling the imagination. It might not be the "groundbreaking mmorpg experience" it was when it was first released, but having played other mmorpgs that were, they all have that aspect in common. The ones that stick around are the ones that manage to harness that element and integrate into the game because you can have all the cutting edge graphics, "improved" combat systems and immerssive environments you want but if you fail to spark a player's imagination it's all just a distraction.

Me and my friend could play wow just to go around ganking people, play dungeons for a whole day just to ninja items and DE in front of other people, raid together, do casual pvp, exploring secret areas, kite whale shark to stormwind harbor etc xD Can't believe I will never experience that epic adventure me and my friend had ever again, but we'll always have our memories. #4 (community) is a really important reason for me to love the game. Basically, due to my social anxiety, I don't have any good friends in real life. But I find so many amazing people in WoW that I can really connect with, even if I can't see them in person. That makes the game a (sort of) social activity for me since I don't hang out with many people in the real world, instead choosing to hang out with some of the awesome people in WoW.

Why are you called The Lazy Peon if you play Alliance?
@alexandrospapadopoulos42979 жыл бұрын
Here is my list, using your points, with some justification, enjoy ! WARNING! EXTREMELY LONG POST! If you want a TL:DR, just read the order I placed them. 10. Nostalgia: As much as I miss WotLK like hell (I started playing just after its ingame launch event), this is not one of the reason I play WoW today. Sure, I met some damn fine people, I loved when i switched from my paladin to my dk (as soon as I hit lvl 55 might I add, and that DK remains my main to this day, 5 years later), but I never want WoW to go back to WotLK or BC as many others ask. I've been there, and I know that just as its current version has its upsides and drawbacks, so was the previous installments glorious and flawed in many ways. 9. Low Requirements: I guess I was never on the receiving end of a low spec computer, so I cant really count that. I always played on Good+, with my current pc supporting Ultra. 8. Roleplay: Shoutout to Preach Gaming and his Drama Friday at this point. Watching this series has made me stay as far away as possible from roleplay. Probably I will never be a part of this community, but I love hearing about its goofs! 7. PvP: Before people drop the hate hammer on me, this is the point of view of a PvE player that tried casual PvP and found it either disgustingly unfair or disgustingly easy at different periods and phases of the game. As a Frost DK (for PvP at least), I found it really fun to make my enemies, especially clothies, explode with those massive obliterate crits while still being able to do fairly well on my own on the battlefield. What I found completely obnoxious was the fact that a healer could outheal 2 dps (even 3 in some situations, and that's on top of the silences and cc that each player had), even though all 4 players were equally geared. Let's not mention that such a godlike healer was NEVER on our side. 6. Scale: After 6 years, I havent fully explored the world of warcraft. Sure I know all the alliance starting zones (up to level 40) inside out, due to my autrociously high amount of alts that never made it to max level. Yes I have the explorer achievement and all of the map visible, but I dont know for jackshit what secrets and easter eggs this world hides. Do I care? Not really, but I guess this is something subjective. I enjoy doing what rewards me (either with fun or gear). To this day, I have never played the Horde side quests and point of view beyond level 10, and honestly, I don't think I ever will. I love the fact that the world is massive, I really do, it's just that a large part of this world is irrelevant, and the current state of non-end game content of WoW is currently in an abysmal state (too easy, no seriously, TOO FUCKING EASY). 5. Artstyle: Unique and instantly recognizable as Peon already stated. At some point during MoP I had quit WoW and I tried other MMOs (L2, GW2, Aeon, terra, SW:TOR and others). They all failed me one by one. I am not going to mention the gameplay part because they were all KIND OF okay, but what i really missed is the WoW atmosphere. yes I saw players, yes I killed monsters, yes I was exploring the world, but it wasn't WoW's players, WoW's monsters or/and WoW's world, and the artstyle player a major role in this. Simply put, after experiencing WoW's artstyle and absolutely extraordinary color palettes, I think nothing can top it off, the others felt like a fail copy attempt. At least for me! ^^ 4. Community: Where do I start... Trade Chat, Guild Chat (you have to encounter all of its variations in all of their moods to trully realize what an unmatched source of retardness, fun or even serious conversations this thing can be), Raiding (same as Guild chat, I am looking at you LFR retards and Heroic/ Mythic tryhards and loot whores), Random questing parties, that one conversation you had with a person in Duskwood at 3 am in the morning, what the fuck were you doing in Duskwood at lvl 80 anyway... You get my drift. An MMO is nothing without its community to support. I am not going to approach the forum side of this since I really have no experience with it, but boy, gather a party of lighthearted trolls and silly guildies, and this game becomes the absolute best. flying mount trains, 1 tank 1 dps 3 healers dungeons, 4 tanks 1 dps, 5 Blood DKs and mass grip everything that moves. You name it, they can do it. Throw Ventrilo or Teamspeak in there and you are set to wake up the neighbor from laughing and have the cops pay you a visit for disrupting the entire block's sleep. I believe that the top three are inseperable, connected in a holy triangle of perfection, but for the list's sake I will do my best. 3. Music: You just cant think of WoW without an ICONIC track coming to mind. Legends of Azeroth, Call to Arms, Arthas, My Son, Invincible, Elwynn Forest theme, Times Change (seriously I have been listening to this beast for the past 7 months on my pc and phone non stop), The Black Temple, Tempest Keep, Storm Peaks. I could go on for hours naming each and every of my favorite tracks. I would even go as far to say that often the music depart is carrying on its shoulders perhaps the biggest weight of all the developing departments. Good Content? ok, Good animations? ok, Good Music? You have the community drooling all over it! WoW's lore is its music in a way. 2. Raiding: Directly linked with points 4, 3 and 1. It is their combination coming to life. You are an (unofficial) part of the lore, while being part of the community and listening to some of the most awesome music in the game. You are also rewarded with a shit ton of laughter (if you get the correct team/guild), a lot of satisfaction, gear to progress, and a huge ego boost whever you down that boss that wiped you 30 times. It would be number one if it wasn't for... well.. number one! :D 1. Lore: Remember when I told you that lore is its music? Well who the fuck doesnt remember that girl (it was actually a boy all along #_#) singing O Thanagor when Arthas took his first steps as the Lich King in the WotLK cinematic? Who doesn't remember Garrosh's catapults firing on Mannaroth with Times Change in the background. Who doesn't remember Illidan flying into the air and yelling " YOU ARE NOT PREPARED" in the BC trailer? Music aside, WoW's lore can absolutely chew and spit any other game's lore (sorry Warhammer fans, but you cannot win this fight). It has given us some of the greatest heroes and villains in existense like Malfurion, Tyrande, the enigmatic Azshara, the massive Deathwing, the awesome Illidan, Arthas, the king of the warcraft universe, and many others! It is, gaming's greatest champion, it overcame any challenge that were laid before it, the mightest of haters have fallen before its relentless onslaught, its unrivaled fury. Is it trully the best universe ever creater? I wonder... (thumbs up to whoever got the reference) Thank you Blizzard. For this masterpiece. Keep up the good work. FYI I think they are doing fine, they just need to shake the rust of their shoulders a bit. Sincerely, A gamer who loves WoW and grew up with some of its characters as his heroes and examples.

I will have to take a stance similar to Az from HeelvsBabyface, The mind numbing apexis dailies we have in WoD. I like daily quests in the previous xpacs because of the different storyline attached to them. The daily quests were not mandatory for anything other than getting people out into the world but the forced apexis dailies for legendaries and other benefits is something that I cannot understand. I play wow now because my brother plays it and I do find it quite fun myself. However I had to play it for a few hours/days, leave, and then come back a few weeks later about 10 times in order to get into it. The reason for this is I play perfect World International. A lot of people who play WoW talk about that "nostalgic feeling" that they have with WoW, well I have that with Pwi. I really love the game. This made it difficult to start playing WoW for several reasons: *note-This list is all the things that I liked about pwi that were different in wow, which made it hard for me to get into wow. Keep in mind when reading that not as many people play Pwi as people play Wow, and these reasons are my account of why It took me a long time to start likening world of Warcraft. These are the reasons why it was hard to adjust. 1. The music - While the music in WoW is by no mean's bad, it is just not on the level of PWI's soundtrack. If you've ever played PWi, you know what I mean. It's music is just amazing. 2. The animation - Pwi has amazing animations IMO. The characters look way more realistic than the characters in WoW, not to mention it gives you so much customizing options for your character that you can actually make it look like yourself Irl if you wish to, as opposed to the extremely limited character customization in WoW. In this video lazy peon says that the Wow animations look realistic enough to not be taken as a joke, but not so realistic that it looks serious. I don't understand why you wouldn't want it to look as realistic as possible. It makes it more epic. And even though it could be seen as more serious (which only adds to the realistic epic feel), just because your character looks realistic doesn't mean you can't have fun with it, joke around, and hang out with friends just like you can in Wow. 3. The "look"-this kind of goes along with the animations thing, but Pwi has that kind of anime style artwork which may not appeal to some, but the reason I like it so much is because the characters look ATTRACTIVE. Most of the characters in wow look overweight compared to other references due to the less detailed realistic and bulgy character "real-estate". In Pwi there is much more definition of muscle, WITHOUT making the muscle so large and bulgy that it can look kind of disturbing at times like Wow does. Also in Pwi the characters are a good deal skinner and more natural looking, rather than the bulkier types in Wow. 4. The AGE - This one I think everyone can agree on. The AGE of the playable characters in Wow is absolutely ridiculous. I don't want to play as a 45 year old human/Orc, I'd much rather play as a hot 22 year old character like those in Pwi. Why blizzard decided to make the characters so old in Wow is beyond me. When your playing as an epic character, no one wants to be old, they want to be young, fit, and agile. 5. The style of "Melee" - In wow the Melee classes do damage by getting relatively close to their enemies and hitting their skills while turning around the character and going through it and such. This looks quite unrealistic to me and I much prefer PWI's way of doing things. In Pwi when you click your skills, it automatically makes your character go up to your enemy and makes sure your in range, and then you start using your skills. Any skills clicked without being in Melee range causes your character to automatically move into Melee range and attack. This was confusing to explain but if you go and play the game you will see what I mean. This also applies to ranged play. When you hit your skills in wow you must move inside the range by yourself, where as in Pwi it will move inside the range automatically if you are not already. This could be just personal preference , but idk it's kind of a big factor for me. 6. The Art - While not bad in wow, it is much better in Pwi. 7. Pvp - The pvp in wow is amazing I am not gonna lie, and it is quite similar in Pwi, but there are a few elements of Pwi pvp that I like more. This one might just be personal preference, but it is also due to what I say in the next point (#8). 8. Balancing and Company - I hate the balancing in wow. Don't get me wrong Pwi is not always balanced either, but wow changes things way to much. People are actually worried that their class will be unplayable from patch to patch because blizzard decides to change things left and right. I also am frustrated with the company to player relationship in wow. It looks to me as blizzard pretty much does a terrible job at guessing what people want, then they make it and put it out for people to play, and then wait for criticism on how they should fix it. It's just looks kind of sloppy. In Pwi there is much less of this. The company makes their content, and people pretty much enjoy it and there is no constant changing or discontent. Those were the reasons why I found it hard to start playing wow. A lot of the things I loved about Pwi were just either not in wow, or were a greatly worse version. That being said I do like both games very much and there are definitely things that wow excel at more than Pwi. If you read all the way through this extremely long comment, please don't take it completely as a "Pwi is better than Wow" comment, I just wanted say that coming from playing Pwi, it took me a really long time to get into and like wow, because of these reasons. As for which game I think is better, I do like Pwi more, it I still really enjoy playing wow, and I think wow is an amazing game. Also sorry for any spelling/grammar mistakes, I'm typing this in a mobile device.

(sorry, bad english) Im a new player, started only from february, and i can tell i just looooved the game when i was just a newbie. My first ever character, which i am still playing, is a blood elf hunter, since i started i played at least 5 hours a day and it literally took me 2 months to level to 90 (i am playing MoP) because of all this new stuff i could learn, i was just too busy exploring the world rather than leveling. Sometimes just for nostalgia i go back to eversong woods, silvermoon city and just walk around and fall deep in my memories. And i still consider blood elfs as my favorite race from them all no matter how people say they suck. About the community, well, i wouldnt consider it to be the best, because of two reasons: 1.Alliance 2.People, who think they are better than you. Alliance because i just hate them, because on my realm that side has so many people that are similar to my reason nb.2. I created an ally alt just to get ally mounts since mounts are now account wide, and i could say i hated almoust everyone on ally side, at least 90% of them are you could say, pure-blood alliance players, who just wont brag about how alliance is better than horde, how much purple gear from the ToT raid they got, whenever i see a peacefull horde player flying by doing its own stuff, a higher level ally comes and kill them and then yell something like "go meet your mommy noob" and i also have met some lvl 90 allys with a lot more lover gear than me, says they are sooo OP , while killing lower level players and whenever i go to teach them a lesson, they run and hide behind other, a lot more stronger lvl 90 players and tell me to come and dare to kill this "OP master of skills". While im in orgrim, people seem to be a lot more nicer and more helpfull, but when i go to stormwind, there are so many people begging for gold, and those, who have more than enough gold, say to them to go f themselves. I only rarely see an ally player who would love to have just a casual chat with a horde player. I have met some of those, i have even helped a lot of them, but some of them after i help, before i could mount back they "stab me in the back" as a thank you for help -_- I could describe myself as a friendly player that would rather just talk and help not kill and laugh about noobs and be an arrogant bitch. So i could say, the reason why i hate wow is people being so self centered when it comes to pvp. Most people just wont stop bragging about their gear and when they got at the top in damage, they automaticaly think they are the best of the best and they can do wathever they want. I play these type of games because i want to meet new people and talk with them about stuff we all enjoy, have a good time, not to compete who is better and when you dont do as good as they want you to, they kick you out from the group, say you are an idiot noob who cant do shit even if they also were idiot noobs once. I also dont consider myself a good pvp'er, cuz i just cant get used to key binding, i click my spells with a mouse and i also still dont know how to exactly make a macro that would do many spells at once, im still learning this stuff. And because of this i have been called an idiot noob many times even by those who do worst than me. Though, other than that, i did made a lot more new friends (only horde of course) because i just like to be nice to everyone and enjoy the time we spend together. Sorry for the awfully long comment ;D

9:48 To be honest, I've been playing WoW since I was four. FOUR. This was because my whole family played it, so this game has been a huge part of my family and me. Now, please don't say I'm lying and think that I'm, like, 27. I'm no where NEAR there!

Yeah, the reason why I love wow is basically the Lore but I must admit, I do like sometimes running through the raids or getting into a group for SoO Mythic or even a bit raiding. But it sure as hell is also Nostalgia, my biggest nostalgia is The Barrens at night and Icecrown, god I remember how many hours I was sitting, questing nonstop for loremaster, so now whenever I enter Icecrown, the music hits really hard. - And as so many others, I ALWAYS come back for the new expansion, playing that. I used to RP as well, since it was a thing I could do that was easy and it gave you something to do, but eventually it became boring as most of the RP comminity is either porn 101 or mercenaries and paladins etc.

The main reason I hate WoW, even though I play it a lot. It's the fact that it's lost a lot of its player interaction, from it being to easy so that you aren't required to co-operate with players, or that Lfr is a thing. Others may disagree on this but I personally feel that it made this game amazing when they had a lot of player interaction

I hope there is a nice long segment on why the Alliance gets all the OP racials like enxtra trinkets on humans, and Shadowmeld on Night Elves. Its really bad when I, as a strictly PvP and Horde player, cant win a single battleground because the Alliance are already half geared.

In no particular order, and not exactly ten of them: Garrisons - There is so much wrong with garrisons, they're the antithesis of the point made in this video that WoW is a huge world ripe for exploration, there's little to no motivation to ever leave your garrison unless your dungeon or LFR queue pops. For me the most disappointing thing about garrisons is how they've made professions feel so much less special, when I still played and raided regularly, one of my favourite things to do before a raid night was go around collecting herbs to craft flasks for my entire raid team, it gave me an extra role to fulfil for my raid group outside of MDPS. It may have been annoying getting beaten to herbs by druids in flight form, but I would take the old method of gathering and crafting to what we have now with garrisons. LFR - I get why LFR exists, and have never been opposed to the idea of allowing more casual players to see the content the devs worked so hard to make, with that said, LFR ruined a great portion of raiding for me. The problem isn't that it exists, but rather that it rewards higher ilvl gear than heroic dungeons, so people like me who would rather skip LFR before jumping into 10/25 man raid content with my guild often don't have the option to skip it, we're told by our raid leaders to get this gear, because it's the best gear in the game prior to normal mode raid gear. A lot of the fun of raiding came from working for days, sometimes weeks on a boss, feeling that sense of accomplishment when you finally downed them, and then moving on to the next area of the the raid that you previously hadn't explored to confront bosses you were just seeing for the first time. All of this is gone when you've already blown through the raid on easy mode with a massive group of angry, screaming grown up children. Raids just feel less special now. PvP - I wouldn't consider myself a PvPer by any stretch of the imagination, so I don't know how class balance works for PvP at the moment, but one thing I do miss from the days of Wrath and Cata (moreso Wrath) was having a contested territory where a large-scale PvP battle takes place once every so many hours, with the winning faction being awarded with raid content to complete, VoA in Wintergrasp, and BH, in Tol Barad. This system saw PvEers jumping into PvP, and PvPers getting involved with PvE content to reap the rewards they had just worked for. Maybe not everybody misses this, but I do miss that feeling of REALLY pulling for my faction to win those battles, even if I wasn't a part of it, and seeing someone come into TradeChat exclaiming "BH IS OPEN!!" Good times. Classes - There's no getting around the fact that classes have been simplified to the point where all tanks are capable of doing the same things, all healers are capable of filling whatever role they're needed for, and all DPS are just damage machines. I was noticing how classes were being so simplified, but it wasn't until I tried a Vanilla private server that I realized how much flavour each class had back then. Every class was given these abstract abilities, and it was up to the players to figure out how to use them, stuns, snares, and CC abilities actually came in handy while questing, and could be used in dungeons to literally save the group from wiping if things went south. These days the game gives you far fewer abilities, and even tell you on your abilities page how to use them, not to mention the actual rotations are a far cry from what they used to be, Dungeons - Dungeons have little to no meaning anymore, and at max level, 5-man content is all but worthless. 5-man heroic content was a ton of fun for me in Cataclysm, it was the most challenging, and most highly rewarded content pre-raid (before the introduction of LFR of course,) and served as a true stepping stone to raids, as everything that was required in these heroics were required in larger scale in the raids that followed. I liked the justice/valor system as well. I know some people don't like the idea of making raid gear available for valor points that you could farm through 5-mans, but that was a slower grind than just running the raids, and if you wanted a full set of tier gear (or gear that looks alike) you would have to actually run the raid, so you could still tell the raiders apart from those who just ran dungeons. 5-man content is some of the most fun I've had in this game, as I tend to believe even 10-man groups are too many people, it was always nice to get into vent with four other guildies and just enjoy some drinks and conversation over a night of dungeon runs, all while getting valor-capped for the week.

Top 10 reasons why people hate World of Warcraft 10. "It isn't as fun as when I played back in vanilla" (it was their first time experience) 9. Older Graphics 8. Garrisons removed a large social aspect of the game 7. Easy to get loot 6. Repetitive leveling / grind 5. Large part of "PvP" skill is what abilities you have and use. 4. Wow Store 3. Assholes in community 2. Large scale with no new content 1. There are not many MMORPGS worth playing but WoW is.

The nostalgia factor is definitely a reason I keep coming back. I've been playing since Burning Crusade and honestly, after having to restart a new character, when it's a blood elf, I always remember by first time crossing Dawning Lane and getting randomly mauled down by a wretched because the game glitched. xP Of course, 8 years later, I am a little more prepared if one attacks out of nowhere

I made like 30 characters, played them for 2 hours, then quit. After a while, I created and leveled my first toon to level 10, a Tauren paladin called Calto. This character leveled to max in cata, but my first wow experience was when I was 5. It was BC, and my cousin was 8 years older than me. He played an Orc arms warrior, and I fell in love, but my parents said that because I was so young, I wasn't allowed to play. I turned 9 and started playing near the end of cata. Now I'm having tons of fun doing PvP after being a casual raider and hardcore dungeoneer, and now I am a mildly skilled PvPer. I love PvP, it's so fun..... Rets so awesome...

I do also unsub and resub once or twice a year, and I know that my memories are great, but I personally think that I sub or resub for the feeling of a hole in my life. This morning, after three months of hiatus, I woke up and stepped on my WoD strategy guide, then it hit me. I threw on my WoW horde hoodie, I walked into the living room, went down the steps to the basement, and booted up the game. Then I played Ashran for three hours until I got two trinkets. Later in the day, I did more Ashran and learned a really good macro from an experienced paladin. Now, I'm typing this comment on the couch while my sports-loving family watches the Super Bowl.

Nailed it with nostalgia. I still remember playing as a human pally (I was a D2 pally, why not WoW pally?) and using a shovel to fight boars, not using seals or spells, dying and running for far too long (causing me to roll a NE for the whisp speed). As a gamer since Atari, no bigger change in the game world than 2004. Thanks Blizzard.
