Albert Cuypgarage, Amsterdam - ZJA

De Albert Cuypgarage is een uniek project; het is de eerste parkeergarage die gebouwd is onder een Amsterdamse gracht. Op deze manier wordt efficiënt gebruik gemaakt van de beperkte ruimte die beschikbaar is in De Pijp.
Architectenbureau ZJA ontwierp een ondergrondse parkeergarage voor 600 auto’s en 60 fietsen onder het water van de Boerenwetering. Max Bögl Nederland B.V. is verantwoordelijk voor de bouw van de Albert Cuypgarage in opdracht van de Gemeente Amsterdam. Doordat een flink aantal parkeerplaatsen op straat verdwijnen, komt er meer ruimte voor voetgangers, fietsers en groen. Het idee achter het ontwerp is om de parkeergarage zo veel mogelijk te laten opgaan in het bestaande stadslandschap. De installaties zijn weggewerkt en de hellingbanen zijn zonder opvallende verhogingen ingepast in de bestaande kade.

The Albert Cuyp parking garage is a unique project; it is the first parking garage built under an Amsterdam canal. By doing this, the limited space in the neighbourhood De Pijp is used efficiently. The award is a recognition for parking garages that excel in design, quality and customer service and is awarded by Vexpan, the platform for parking in the Netherlands. The Albert Cuyp parking garage is the 13th parking garage in the Netherlands that has received an ESPA Gold Award.
The architectural office ZJA designed an underground parking garage for 600 cars and 60 bicycles under the water of the Boerenwetering canal. Max Bögl Netherlands B.V. is responsible for the construction of the Albert Cuyp parking garage, commissioned by the Municipality of Amsterdam. With a large number of parking places disappearing at street level, more space becomes available for pedestrians, cyclists and planting. The idea behind the design is to blend the parking garage into the existing urban landscape. All installations are installed out of sight as best as possible and the ramps are integrated into the existing quays without any conspicuous elevations.
