I think this trend in out of the box stock PIDs will continue as more inexperienced pilots get into the hobby so the rest of us will need to make the adjustment and just improve the tune ourselves. I've decided to extend the giveaway from my BG Black Friday video to this video, so if the number of likes is reached for the remaining three items, they will be given away based on the same criteria as mentioned in that video... kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3ari5WaeNVjrJY So hit that like button! 2:10 interesting observation. As a beginner, this makes sense as I fly with bent props till it breaks 🤣. Thanks.

Great video and insight. Looks like we all need to learn how to tune thanks to all the dummies joining the hobby now.

Think you might be giving them too much credit. Seems like recent tunes suck based on what others are saying. But perhaps they are tuning for lowest common denominator. If they were, you’d think they’d offer a tune in another profile for advanced though. How much extra work would that be? Emax offered that in the past.

I've spoken to a few of them and some will be providing alternate tunes for expert pilots that can be downloaded from their support sites. I think this is still evolving slowly.

Also experienced pilots usually know how to tune. If you're a beginner, even if you feel something's not right, you might not know how to tune them. The great thing would be for the manufacturer to publish different tunes.
@AlbertKimTV3 жыл бұрын
That would be a good idea assuming we can get them to admit this.

Yeah, I agree, Albert. It makes total sense, actually. Anyway, with things like the Project Mockingbird... It gets easier for us to get a better PID tuning. 😊 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Very interesting and good points. An experienced pilot will most likely tune any build to their liking after putting in their rates. A new pilot may not even have heard of rates or pids. They just want to fly. And after so many crashes that they swear was gentle its toast. So makes sense companies will tune to the new flyer, hoping they'll have a good experience and return for more flying toys. And as they get experience they'll learn to tune and find their rates. Happy flying everyone.

Those whoop boards with the ELRS SPI receiver all have to run Betaflight 4.3, and I have my doubts about whether the people who tune these have really figured out all the new sliders 🤣. Also, that means you have to run a nightly build of the configurator - some of those nightlies have had some weird problems. When 4.3 at least gets to RC stage it should get better.
@AlbertKimTV3 жыл бұрын
Though I use the Meteor65 Pro as an example in the video, the concept applies to non-ELRS SPI quads. So this is actually not really relevant.

I know a guy that literally cut his prop from a 7 inch to a 5 inch with ✂️ and didn't even balance them 😂 not to mention how dumb an idea it is to begin with

@@MCsCreations The only thing concerning me with elrs, is everything gets very hot, very fast on the bench. So pilots living in hotter areas might have problems.
