How many of you are thinking about going tubeless?
@Nombredecorsario17 жыл бұрын
On Mondays , Wednesdays and Saturdays I think of going tubeless, the rest of the week I change my mind. I think I am in line with 99% of dual sport riders!!! . Thanks for that Abe.

tu..be or not tu...be, this question has being afflicting mankind since Hamlet time.

Constantly thinking of this, I never go lower than 25psi either tire. 99% of my riding is through traffic and normal roads. I know others will say to replace a tube only takes 15 mins, but a plug takes 10 mins and 5 of that is waiting for the plug.

I agree, I’m fortunate enough to have 2 complete sets of wheels, and my street set is tubeless, the bike feels lighter and more nimble with the tubeless set.

I wanna... do you think i can go do tour on outex tubeless kit around 10,000miles? 80-90% will be tarmac?

Great news on the tubless rig, thanks. I've ridden/raced enduro, and a little motocross off and on for about 36 years. I find people underinflate off road tires way too much. If you run the correct tire and actually know how to ride off road there is no need to reduce air pressure to real low levels. I fully believe you can run these tubless rims off road just fine. These bikes are not meant for Romanics type off roading there for you don't have to set them up for the most extreme conditions.

If you take the power for the USB sockets from the canbus wiring under the dash, you won't need a switch. Or you could plug into the BMW accessory socket which is on the same supply and only comes on with the ignition. I have done this on my 800GS.
@AlbesADV7 жыл бұрын
+Gil Griffith that's right, but I want to be able to have power with the ignition off

I'm thinking about tubeless for road wheels if I get a second set. The Australian set on eBay looks interesting, but it's $1700 and I'd still need three brake rotors, 2 ABS rings, and a sprocket for an easy-swap set.
@AlbesADV5 жыл бұрын
I would skip t th e sprocket, the sprocket is a push in system, no tools necessary, it literally takes 30 seconds to swap it between wheels, other than that, a second set of wheels is incredibly convenient.

@AlbesADV3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nick, its a DC-3 as far as I know. No, no connection, I just spend a lot of time at airports because of my job

Hi Alb, I agree to don't use the bike off-road if you ride tubeless with this trick (if is not for just a soft one). But what about doing this modify just to be safer maybe during a long trip (well, or daily) if you pinch? I mean, with the tube...if you pinch is a pain in the ... and not everyone can solve it or has the instruments with him (and a new tube maybe). With this modify, if you pinch you can use just a plug/foam and a pump and get home or to the closest service... What do you think? I have a 800 too
@AlbesADV6 жыл бұрын
I agree, you bring up a good point, using this product as a fail safe in conjunction with tubes it's a great idea. I personally have been using it since I made the video on my street wheels and I've never had a problem.
@AndreaFast6 жыл бұрын
That's why... maybe the only "problem" is to bring with you a new valve and that's it.. Potrebbe essere buona idea per viaggi tipo marocco etc..

Hi Albe, I have a 2015 BMW F800 GS. I was quite disappointed with BMW's USB socket because the socket doesn't accept the aftermarket USB outlet. I thought of installing an aftermarket USB outlet. What do you recommend? It has to be kind of waterproof (with a flab cover).
@AlbesADV7 жыл бұрын
+Charles Jenang the one I installed works pretty good, its kind of waterproof and is fairly cheap and easy to install, the only thing is you might want to install a switch if you don't ride every day. I'm going to install a switch myself and obviously I'll video it and post it, stay tuned 👍🏼

Hi, any other option for going tubeless? Can you buy 2 new wheels that are suitable - very expensive but is it an option?
@AlbesADV6 жыл бұрын
The new F850GS wheels are tubeless, you might be able to use those, or as a rule of thumb old spoked wheels are tubed so if you use a set of older cast aluminum wheels they should be tubeless, ie. f750gs f650gs etc.
