Excellent. I shall be cussing at my Scrambler tomorrow as I replace the chain and sprockets. I have kept the license plate arm thing, and that's a whole bunch of fun to remove and replace 😭😂😂

I skipped that part of the instructions as well, I removed that plastic piece on my own, then when I looked back at the instructions I saw they actually tell you to 😆😆

I've got a 22 Africa twin and liked the Heed crash bars I just received mine today and took about 2hrs and all went together pretty good a couple bolts were a pain in the butt to get to but I managed and all tightened up nice looks gray and tight very solid great thank you for the video didn't even have to pull the exhaust like other crash bar manufacturers

The Heed are a single piece, meaning they go all the way up, you can find them on ebay or there is a link on my website albesadv.com/2021-honda-africa-twin/ They are around $400 at least when I bought them

I don’t think so. Used the torque specs for the OEM bolts

@@AlbesADV Thanks, just got my OEM service manual today with the torque specs. However strangely not seeing the torque value for the engine bolt. Did you torque that one to a spec?

Hi, at the top of the torque value page 1-13 look for STANDARD TORQUE VALUES, I used those accordingly and added some non permanent tread lock. 👍

Great video! I watch your video in detail because the directions were poorly translated. I just finished installing these on my 22 ATAS ES DCT and have horrible vibrations on the my handlebar and counsel. Did you experience the same issue with vibration? any idea how to fix this? I loosened everything up and pushed up and down on the suspension and retightened the bolts but still have the issue. Thanks in advance for any advice you have!

Hi, I don't, I feel a little vibration in 6th gear exactly at 74mph (can't remember the exact RPM) but it's so precise that I can tell I hit 74mph without looking and I either speed or slow down up 1 or 2 mph and it goes away, even then it's not overwhelming. Try making some washers out of an old inner tube and use them on the mounting points, if you do so, add some treadlock to be safe. I hope this helps 👍

Hi ED, Each model is specific for the different trims, you can go directly to the HEED website and take a look so you know what to look for when you choose, other than that the installation itself is very similar if not identical, good choice 👍

Nice video man. I used to watch your f800 videos. Why did you go with the AT? I cannot decide whether to get the AT or the 2019+ 1250 gs. Honda looks really good. Does it have lower center of gravity than the 800gs?

Welcome back 😀, I went with the Honda because it had enough power (way more than the F800) and felt way lighter than the 1350gs I've tested, besides that, in my opinion the AT looks way better. I have to say the new F900gs looks pretty good too but I haven't rode it yet 😅. I'm very happy with the AT on and off road

Hi Sergio, congrats on getting crashbars, a little more vibrations is normal, since the crashbars connect multiple points between engine and frame 😀👍

Did you consider any other band of crash bars? What made you decide on the heed?

Yes, I considered the OEM, THE GIVI and the Altrider. But I wanted a single piece bar that came up pretty high and didn’t cost a fortune. Besides that I had Heed on my F800GS and never regretted it. Very solid and spot on installation

I just put a set of Heed on my 22 AT I looked at alt Rider and SRC Moto both are are around $850 and look at Heed they.covered the Fairing and the engine for just over 500 bucks to the door they went on easy they weren't hard couple hours just taking my time putting mine on. And solid

Hi i got these crash bars last night and having trouble , I know there two spacers on the left side at the front of the bike where the exhaust is, is there another spacer go on the right side? Can’t see anything on instruction

When I went off-roading I didn’t notice any, but yesterday while riding on the freeway I felt a weird buzz in 6th gear that came on at 74 mph and went away at 76 mph, I’m not sure if it’s because of the bars or was always there and never noticed it

Actually I did notice a Lil vibration on mine after installation about 4300 rpm73 mph also a little irritating but I'm going to loosen up the motor mount brackets and retighten them and if that doesn't work I want to put a thin rubber dampeners in a few areas to see if that works I will let you know

@moto tech sam... same thing with me! I put some o-ring on the footpeg area between washers and crashbars... it helped a little bit. But there's still some vibration around 4000 rpm... let me know if you any improvements on yours... Thanks

I like them quite a bit, very protective, very sturdy and good quality control, the only thing is a slight buzz from 4500 to 4700 RPM

Be careful with those crashbars. On the left side there are extremely close to the frame. Smal crash and they could damage main frame in your bike.
