The COLDEST states during the entire cannon ball run will only be at a LOW of like, 40F in March, well within the operational temperature for an EV. Come on man. They and everyone else try to avoid it as much as possible, but there's always that acknowledgement. I don't think random civilians driving home from work have consented in the same way. Like, sure, they're driving, and they know driving is risky, but generally speaking they don't expect street racers to be roping them in to the gamble the racers are taking. And I know they're good drivers, but I watch professional racing all the time, and those guys still often crash, still get injured, can still die. Being really good at driving doesn't necessarily prevent a potential civilian casualty. So yeah, I support speeding laws. Take it to the track.

In the 60’s the NY State Freeway had no speed limit, just 40mph min. If you kept a safe distance from the car in front of you, state troopers left you alone. If was nice to do 100mph in a good car. I borrowed my father’s MGB.

I enjoy racing and love speed but speeding on public roads or seeing people do that has always made me feel off. Even if you are an experienced driver you can make mistakes and you never know what other users of the road could do. Speed limits are there for a good reason and already few miles over the posted limit can have drastic consequences when it comes to breaking and accidents. Mabye I feel this way because I know to many stories of innocent people which got caught in the "crossfire" or maybe because my country has super restrictive laws around speeding: "Anyone who speeds accepts that other people could be killed as a result of their behavior. A speeding driver is someone who drives at least 40 km/h too fast in urban areas; drives at least 60 km/h too fast outside built-up areas; drives at least 80 km/h too fast on the highway. Speeding drivers are punished with a very high fine and a prison sentence of one to four years. You must surrender your driver's license for at least two years and will only get it back with a traffic psychologist's report. Your car may be confiscated and sold or scrapped."

The idea is cool but I just can't get past the danger of it. You're endangering the lives of others just for bragging rights. Also they have traffic light changers? What the actual fuck? That is so insanely dangerous it blows my mind.

Always loved the Cannonball, a combination of skill, gear, power and huge cojones. That last one's going to rest for a while. At the end, the advert for another video...is that Michelle Mouton next to an inverted Audi Quattro? She's a professional rally legend. And she's up next! Thanks for great vids, Albon.

This is really well made. Great, accurate, informational video.

It’s way too easy to get a driver’s license. With a threshold so low you get idiots who think the law doesn’t apply to them. It does not matter if it’s a professional behind the wheel. Keep the high speeds on a race track. Its bs like this that’s behind the increase in fatal car accidents.

how are the people that did the cannonball not arrested after the race since u can clearly see their faces and having them admit they did the race?
@Tasmanaut Жыл бұрын
you can't be charged after they fact. If the police have no evidence, they have nothing.

This is super safe for everyone on the road, especially the family out on a road trip, that gets smashed by morons going 175 mph on the highway.. pretty stupid if you ask me.

great video, i'm french and in 1999 a car magazine made a similar run from Paris to nice in 4h17 (instead of 10h) with a porsche and a bmw. the porsche did 133mph average speed

Interesting video. I'm wondering why people wouldn't time their depart time so that they arrive in Cali at night and run through LA while there is less traffic.

Lol they're scared the law in the middle of the country. That's why they go when they do. It gives them the cover of night.

Doing this challenge in Bangladesh is easy in terms of not getting caught by the police because 99% of the roads don't have a speed limit but there are some great disadvantages too like having narrow roads, traffic and high cost of buying cars as there is 300% tax
@shamshoque6548 Жыл бұрын
bro I've been to Bangladesh, it's funny that you think any car can go 100 mph in Bangladesh even for a mile lol.... the streets are horrible compared to US highways

Everything is owned by BlackRock or other financial institutes around the world. Propaganda is still legal and the bypass to said laws that state it is illegal is private companies influencing your idea of politics which further gave control to private companies over the stability it should have brought. Their goal is to pass laws while keeping us distracted from what's really going on.
