Albufeira, Portugal is one of the top summer destinations in the Algarve. Albufeira is known as the party town of the Algarve. With a couple fantastic beaches, nightclubs, bars, and restaurants, we can see why. However, there is plenty to do for those of us that are looking for something a bit quieter and laid back. The old town has plenty of restaurants to take in the amazing view and sunset or just sit back and relax with a drink. We were shocked by how much we loved our time in Albufeira and can definitely see returning - it definitely has something for everyone!!

Sat in hotel in albufeira now, watching you in albufeira 😁😁 Did you visit the new town. That side is clubs and pubs. Large groups of men and women. Ok during the day. The old town is more couples and families. Live singers in the street at night. The marina is a good trip for the day also.

Albufeira gets its party reputation from the ‘strip’ which is a road full of bars about 1 mile west of the old town that is normally full of drunken teenagers, sometimes my own! You were quite a distance from it which is the best place to be! Happy travels

I recommend Lagos. Similar coastline, good restaurants and very central train and bus terminals.

Albufeira is probably the best spot to be in the Algarve, despite not having a proper train stop. While it's not the most charming town, it has everything there (beaches, restaurants, pubs, clubs) or nearby (Guia Shopping Centre, Aquaparks). Albufeira is in the centre of the Algarve coastline, it's 90 min drive to Sagres or to Spain..

There are local buses (the Giro line) from the bus station to the town centre. Each ticket costs 1.40€.

Not a strange question at all! We didn't notice any in Albufeira but there is always a restaurant you can go into. When we do notice public restrooms you usually have to pay. Always carry pocket change! Thank you for watching and safe travels. Cheers!!!🍻

We absolutely love watching your videos. Very to the point and informative and great shots of the sights! Of the 3 areas, Albufeira, Portimao, and Quarteira, which would you recommend for a months stay in Feb for a couple in their early 60’s. An area not super busy or over populated and yet still has lots to see with eating out options. We are thinking of renting a car to see more of the Algarve through day trips. Any suggestions?

We preferred Albufeira over Portimao, we didn't have the opportunity to make it to Quarteira. For day trips Lagos in the west and Tavira and Vila Real de Santo Antonio in the east. Having a car is a must to see the area so we would highly recommend renting one!! Have fun and safe travels!! Cheers!!🍻

Sooooo great video... Thanks for it I just noticed it this a.m. Trip planned for March 7 with sister. Looking at two different airbnbs both at the marina. It's that classified as old Town? It's that a good location? Amsterdam to Lisbon to Albufeira back to amsterdam. Thanks for the heads up on the train. Take traffic to Largo then bus into Albufeira?? And info would be much appreciated. Planning on picking up rental car in faro. We just can't decide if we should do Lisbon first or last?

The area around the marina would be a good location in our opinion. Renting a car is a great idea and really easy to do at the airport, no need to stick around Faro but Lagos, Tavira and the Monte Gorda Vila Real area are worth visiting. Taking the ferry over to Spain for sangria is something fun to do from Vila Real. You may have already watched some of our other videos on the Algarve but if you haven't, we really enjoyed the eastern half although it may be a bit slow in March. Have a great trip and safe travels!! Cheers!! 🍻 PS. The Algarve will be relaxing, and Lisbon will be busy. We would prefer to relax at the end of our vacation. 😀

I"ve been ther in Albufeira two Weeks ago my Hotel was 10min away from old town i was searching where the Train Station and Bus Station going to other places sad to say i didn't find it and the Hotel worker where i stayed couldnt explain it to me how i get there😔.. I only saw old town and the beach nearbei at Night since i was alone on Vacation.. There is by the way another place i think 10 min with Car from Albufeira where the Huge Hotels are Located there is alot of going on there Parties, Bars are very busy even in the Afternoon there is mor Crowed not for me though i prefer visitng Nice Beaches .

I think the area with the hotels you are referring to is called the Strip. It is the party area of Albufeira. That is the one negative of the area is that the bus and train station are a bit away from the beach. Safe travels and thank you for watching. Cheers!!!🍻

Hi Celso!! That is a great tip!! When we left the US back in September our original plan was to fly from Spain to Buenos Aires, Argentina for two months before heading through Mendoza to Chile, Peru, and Panama then back to the US for a couple weeks to regroup. But, covid wouldn't allow such a plan. We couldn't get into Argentina at the time. We will get to South America in early 2024 after a tour of southeast Asia. We are loving Portugal!!
