We were there, too! We were with the Airstream International Club and were able to stay right near the field. No shuttles for us and when we had to use the restroom, we walked back to our Airstream. It was fantastic! Like you said, even if you've seen videos of the festival, it is so much more amazing in person! We left Monday morning and split our trip back to Longmont, Colorado where we live by staying at Trinidad Lake State Park. We had full hookups, and it was a really nice park. Even though we left early we felt like we had had a full experience,

Over 40 years ago I lived in Walla Walla, Washington for close to 5 years. While I was there I went to a couple of their Hot Air Balloon Celebrations. But if I remember correctly they only had about 150 Balloons that took off. I had no idea that there was something this Hugh as far as numbers. Thank you for sharing such an amazing insight.

We were there this year. Got there on Friday, the day before opening day, and stayed until the following Monday. The Saturday opening day was spectacular. We stayed in the President’s Compound, on the bluff overlooking the launch field. Had 50 amp, water, and a card for one pump out. Very expensive, but the venue was well worth it and we would do it again. Saturday was only really clear day. We were in our lawn chairs on the bluff with our neighbors by 5:30 a.m. saw the drone light show, the launch of the dawn patrol, and the main launch. With over 650 balloons, the launching went well past lunch time. Just amazing. We loved it. Didn’t know you were there at the same time.

We arrived on Friday also and left on Tuesday. Glad we made that first Sat too and then stayed that last day to experience them coming right over our camping area. That was really cool! Where you stayed sounds really cool!

Great video. My wife and I would like to go to the balloon festival one day, but we won’t be riding in one for $500! When I lived in Temecula in the mid 80's, the balloons would fly very low over our property. It was awesome. Too many people for me to go to the Albuquerque Fiesta though. Thank you for the great tour.
