This is a great intro video for bitwig, I like the features you covered. One bit of feedback though is that if you increased the UI scaling factor (to say, 125%), it would make things a lot clearer to see, especially for folks that are new to this DAW. I found myself squinting at times to see what you were doing.

This is one of the best "getting started with..." videos I've seen on any subject. Some very basic information to get you going, some more advanced bits to whet your appetite to look deeper - using chaos for randomise velocity on the hats is golden - and a bit of a following along project so you get to the end feeling you've achieved something worth saving and looking at again later. Perfect! For myself I'm a long time user of Live but have had a few years hiatus from music and need to relearn a lot of it. Bitwig seems so much quicker than Live in workflow and it feels more like the whole program is an instrument to experiment - That's probably a bit unfair on Live - but I feel like I'll quickly achieve a lot more in Bitwig than I will in Live. For not much more than the cost of upgrading from 10 Suite to 12 Suite I can get a license for Studio so that's what I'll be doing. Thanks again for the great intro video - needless to say I've subscribed to the channel.

As a long-time user of Logic Pro, I have never gotten as far as I have done with other alternative DAWs as I have done with Bitwig, its just so much more intuitive (without the Manual) I’ve found than say Ableton was! As much as I still like Logic, I can still find it confusing at times and I get tired of its approach to things. It was Venus Theory (Cameron’s channel) where I first encountered Bitwig and gotten me curious! I appreciate your efforts in helping me understand this refreshing DAW! Thanks 👍

Yep, super useful. One or two places where you go a little too fast, but I just rewound a few seconds to see what you did. You're packing a lot of info in to some sections and I'm like whoah, how did you do that (trying to follow where your cursor was going, and guessing what key shortcuts you used), but I got there. I love the pulse feedback even in the browser menus which help you find the source bass kick to choose for input to the sidechain. I'm at a real early stage in evaluating which DAW I want to use. Started with Reaper for a while, then Ableton (got a Live Lite serial after buying a Zoom U-22 audio interface), but now finding Bitwig to be very intuitive. I have an older Novation SL25 MkII (uses Automap for VST plugins) which I've discovered will integrate really well with Bitwig DAW by using the DrivenByMoss midi controller extension (had to use v19.2.2, not the latest). Thanks for the lesson and I'll check out your other stuff!

Brilliant. I've just came over from Ableton that I've not long ago grasped after using Cubase 20 years ago. I love Ableton, but Bitwig looked so cool as well. I just had to try it out. Also it was cheaper than upgrading from Ableton standard to the next jump up at £400. I didn't want the hassle of learning the basics again so this video was perfect for me. I certainly don't regret buying Bitwig. The possibilities are endless. I did a modular sounds last night and my Trax is well on the way. I'm probably a total idiot at this arranger, but when I drag a clip from the browser into my MIDI track I can never get it to produce any sounds? For example I grab the 707 drumkit and drag a 707 HH onto the arranger. When I do this with a synth it works fine, even when I double click to make a clip in the arranger and then edit that it won't play anything!

Hey man I'm giving Bitwig the trial to see if I want to move from Ableton or not. When I write music I always record my ideas live into created midi clips within session view and arrange later. In Bitwig there seems to be a push to record midi into arrangement. I can adapt to this and it wouldn't be a game changer. However, is it possible to create a clip in Bitwig, set the loop length and record live into that created clip? Whenever I try to do this the recording goes straight into arrangement and not the created midi clip.

is there a way to set it to when i hit space twice to restart my loop it starts at the beginning of the loop marker and not where i last clicked? hate that it restarts where the blue line is and not beginning
