Damn bro. Leader, psychologist, philosopher, life coach, drug and alcohol counsellor, hiking guide, content creator, friend, brother and father and alcoholic in recovery....hows that for just some of your qualifications as a teacher!? You got your shit together and now your helping others do the same. Much respect good sir. Nuff said 👍

One of several reasons I don’t drink is the cost. Today I was in the market and a sale was on these small box’s of wine. $2.99 for a 1 liter box. I’m aggravated that I fell for it. I feel like crap now.

Lost my beautiful son to suicide he was 23. During the process of grief and therapy realised I was in a highly abusive marriage. I am sixty but I upped and left leaving everything behind… in the physical sense. I have reconnected in so many ways with my family and I can see my love for my daughter in a whole new way. I was married to a viscous drunk and yet increased my drinking to cope with him! Anyway I am now ten days dry and feeling amazing. Thank you Kevin for these videos ❤

I have not read the Frankyl book for years. The main thing I remember is that it taught me how a person is not bound by their circumstances. We cannot change what happens outside of us, but we certainly can have control over what goes on inside of us. God bless you Kevin. Day 32 for me. My life is coming back to me and I am finding joy in simple things again.

Many people have emptiness in their lives WITHOUT alcohol. But rather than work to address the core issues and grow, they turn to a drug to make them forget. At that point they now have 2 sets of problems. That is what is meant by “doing the work” after quitting. It’s finally getting around to self inspection, etc to address the long ignored real problems that never were addressed and years literally lost during addiction.

Thank you so much for this. Im 10 days sober. I've been around a couple of my triggers. But, i managed ! My biggest trigger is what hurt is my head and heart. Im trying so hard to look at things differently. Its not easy. Especially what you dream! Last night's dream was me drinking! I shared that with my best friend straight away this morning. Im learning to share my despair!

For the first time in 4 months I’m getting there and loving your videos. They really reasonate with me I’ve found that as you get sober things gradually slowly change without you noticing. Relationships, mood appetite, everything is changing slowly and I have this lovely feeling of seeing me for the first time in many years. I’m not so bad after all 😊 your voice by the way has an amazing calming effect

I heard an anthropologist opine that the opposite of death is not life, but birth. Life is a cycle that is unending. Giving up something that ties you down is a re-birth of sorts. The time gone is just that, but the time that remains is also just that, get the best out of it. It’s interesting how we begin to explore the philosophical in clarity, I really like life, it makes sense that we ponder its nature.

Kevin, you have changed my life and inspired me to be like you and be a AF role model to my kids, I am not going to preach to them anymore, and let them see the change in me, and then if they start to ask WHY I no longer drink I will open up to them...Actions speak louder that words...Keep on shining your light brother.

I was worried I couldn’t either, we’re all human so we all face difficulties, believe in yourself and the ones that care for you.. try it and see, like me has the way you’ve dealt with it worked longer than the alcohol.Mine didn’t, it’s free treatment… my wife of 31 yrs just stared at me when to told her… that was priceless and gave me more motivation, good luck sir!

my gf has a friend that she likes.the western boyfriend is an alcoholic that drinks typically 2-3 bottles of rum a night long neck.when hes half drunk hes actually trying to be friendly and polite though there is a level of passive aggressiveness.but when he drinks too much he goes to another level shouting abuse at people and me too.its like another persona emerges that hes probably not even aware of.problem is his gf wont confront him as is scared of the consequences so enables his behaviour and she drinks alot too though her behaviour is nothing like his.i told my gf his gf is part of the problem because she allows and enables his behaviour.

Thanks kevin. Beautiful morning there! and here in idaho as well. Holding strong and have had no cravings. Only thoughts of drinking that are followed up by relief that I'm NOT drinking. Then I have this overwhelming gratitude and amazement that I made the choice . A friend who doesnt drink says to me...."you seem stressed"....ha...so strange because I'm not stressed like I was before. Interesting how perhaps his image of me with a beer in my hand maybe portrayed some sort of impression that I was relaxed and soooooo happy. Kind of a strange side effect. Thanks again for your great videos.

@@jujumulligan43 I'm amazed at how easy it really can be. I had to decide that I didnt want to be that person always looking for another beer. It started to seem so weak, so needy to have that crutch. That helps alot when you can see yourself as stronger and not a victim to the hype and propaganda of alcohol. It really has been an anchor point for me to kick that old me to the curb .
