I have 2 sisters who won't talk to me or my mom because we live in Florida and voted for Trump and DeSantis. They wouldn't even contact my dad the entire time he was fighting cancer. They didn't even return our call when he died. They did the same thing to my deceased sister. No calls when she was fighting cancer, nothing when she died, and no contact since with her daughters and granddaughters. It's insane. I used to worry about my mom until she flat out said, "F*ck them. I've had enough."

I think it has to do with what they are exposed to out in the world. My sister is my polar opposite. We grew up together, but then she moved away, went to foreign countries, was exposed to alternative religions, lifestyles, and because she was the type of woman who became what ever her latest boyfriend believed, I think she was a bit brainwashed. She met all the wrong guys , [some who cheated on her, some who stalked her, all of them lied to her...], and they each ingrained into her certain ideologies. Her world view caused her to deduce that Planned Parenthood helps women out with many other things, so the baby k*lling part is acceptable collateral. I can't get her to see the insanity of saying that terminating an innocent precious baby, is NOT, and can never be acceptable, just because they also provide testing, or "preventative services, [birth control...]," or whatever the heck PP does. How anyone can justify it in that way, is insane to me, but she believes it wholeheartedly. I think she wants so badly to be liked by everyone that she compromises her soul to do so. 😢

How do you let politics divide your family? My wife and I are both conservative, vote R. However, I have plenty of cousins who are Dems. They hate firearms. We just don't talk about politics. I come from a close knit family too. One cousin (Jill) will sometimes say,...."oh your one of those people." when it comes to firearms. Or she say..."how can you carry (ccw) a firearm, when you're a surgeon." I simply tell her....if something ever happens, it will be "me" who's the first responder.
