@eliluttrell76375 жыл бұрын
I built a recurring murderous theme style Glissa that seems to run amazingly. I would say, to anyone building or running the deck, there are 2 required cards. Viridian Longbow and Thornbite Staff Either one attached to Glissa makes her a murder stick and Thornbite can kill armies if you have the mana to spend.

Danial would have been able to cast his commander on turn 2, if he had cast Cultivate on turn 1. He would have been more mana efficient. He spent 3 turns without using mana from his Tropical Island, which means that he could have just gotten a shockland instead.

Elijah made the mistake with Glissa too many do, they leave out engine cards. You need consistent card draw/self mill/creature killing engines. Most people overload on card draw and ramp, but have nothing to do with it or nothing to spend it on, you need your GY to have stuff in it if you want value and it should function almost like a 2nd playing hand that you can dig into often. Highly recommended cards would be any artifact that can get itself to the GY, self milling creatures like Millikin, Skull Prophet (doubles as ramp), Cards like Codex Shredder are good can millself and gives you access to self sac'n it to bring back non artifact spells for 2nd 3rd uses etc. Ripples of Undeath and Underrealm Lich are both good card pitchers, Nowhere to run doubles as a creature kill/spell and helps you get around hexproof and ward longterm. Creatures like Angel of Suffering can really fill up the yard in a hurry, if your mill engine is working too good, Elixer of Immortality allows you to gain some life and shuffle your GY back into you library allowing you to recycle spells when those card draw engines are firing. The name of the game isn't artifacts with Glissa, it's value engine based on artifact recursion. If you are running single use cards 1 for 1 removal spells you need to look at creatures like Drana who is a mana sink creature killer on a stick. Sheodred and call to the grave are both trigger factories. You are killing creatures left and right you can toss a lil reanimator in there if you want to get value on what you are sniping morbid enablers. She also lends herself to go wide stratedgy, if you are constantly killing things for value and thinning their creature board, Eldrazi monument is a cheap defensive and offensive piece protecting your board from destroy, giving the team evasion and also being a sac outside for creatures all in one to help generate more value off of ETB artifact creatures or grave pact effects etc. Glissa works best with a strategic balance in my opinion, some control, some mill, some reanimator, some go wide, reusable answers, fun alternate win cons like Vorpal Sword, original Vraska Assasins, Pumping a Drana to kill a creature and playing a Tainted strike as an instant for a 1 shot kill.

@pvoss075 жыл бұрын
I don't understand how that final combo worked - can someone explain?
@damonyaste69225 жыл бұрын
Sure. It is a three card combo involving Aetherflux Reservior, Bolas's Citadel, and Sensie's Devining Top with Aetherflux Reservior being the finisher. Aetherflux Reservior gains you one life for each spell you have cast in a turn every time you cast a spell and allows you to pay 50 life to deal 50 damage. Bolas's Citadel is used in the combo as it allows you to play the top card of your library by paying life equal to its converted mana cost. Sensei's Divining Top is used in the combo as it can be tapped to allow you to draw a card and put it on top of your library. Once the combo is assembled, you tap the Top, draw a card, and put the Top back on top of you library, pay one life to cast it using the Citadel, and gain life back equal to the number of times you cast it from the Aetherful Resevior. Since you can keep casting the Top, you gain more and more life each time you cast it and can eventually use the Aetherflux to pay this gained life and deal 50 damage to your opponents. This combo is not infinite as you have to draw a card for each Top activation.

Man, there are so many unnecessary instances of casting instants or activating abilities unnecessarily on your own turn ... they're most powerful in your opponents turns!
@RobMedellin4 жыл бұрын
Yes, but sometimes you don't want a) opponents to untap (e.g. for a counterspell), b) an end of turn effect to happen (e.g. Jin-Gitaxias), c) an upkeep effect to happen (e.g. create fearies or adding mana). Or you want it to be bait, or lastly and least you may want to look like a noob to later surprise them.
