My dear friend I love your channel n just love the way your face lights up when you are around your feather babies...I hope you ha Ave never had to go thru this...I own 5 birds from cockatiels love birds and Conyers I love them there my world I am lucky to b a work from home person so I have them out all day I just live them so much I would like to get a rose breasted cockatoo one day but I love to give them so much attention so if they didn't get along it would b hear breaking so it's just been my wish for long time I even have a hole big indoor room just for my bird babies... Here in Portland Oregon, there are very few avian vets. No matter how small the bird, if you want it looked at by doctor… a hundred dollars, please, at the front desk. Four budgies with beak mites? $400 just to make a diagnosis and suggest a medication. $$$$$ No one can properly be ready for pet animal stewardship, without a bank account deposited purely for the pet. $$$$ it’s outrageous.

What is the secure distance to not contaminate other birds? I got one cockatiel that was lost on the street and almost died to a cat and I do not know if he have something. I have put him on another cage and let him at least 1 meter distant from my cockatiels but I still have worries of things like this.

I have a question, my birds one night starting flapping randomly for no reason in the middle of the night, we thought they got spooked by something like a car passing outside. The next afternoon i let them out of the cage, only to find that they cant fly, they flap to the floor as if their wings were clipped (but they aren't) and in SO worried about them bc they usually love flying around, but its like they lost the ability to do it. I need some comments please. I started giving them vitamins in their food. Im going to watch them like a hawk from now.

Maybe they got injured, I am not sure. But when they flap randomly at night it’s because they had a night terror. Budgies should sleep with a small light in the room like a night light, since they are scared of complete darkness. Hopefully your budgie will recover!

I need an Avion doctor & there impossible to find in Georgia it's ridiculous. I have a VET that sees small Animals including my budgies but he said dust won't hurt them, & you just said that it would. Good thing I didn't listen to him & started cleaning everything including curtains to make sure there was no dust cause I do have small spiders making spider webs I can't spray cuz I don't want to hurt my Bird's it's all so frustrating I could just cry😭 I already lost two of my parakeets I have two left.

Our budgies never had mites before. I'm a budgie owner for 24 years now and we never had budgies with mites before. Keep your cages clean and try to find a trusted breeder (I'm against budgies "for sale" in so called (pet) stores. Governments worldwide must ban to "sell" (I hate this word) budgies at markets/stores etc. Only a professional breeder who really cares can "distribute" budgies to people and for a much higher "price" (It's a life you have to take care of!).

Quarantine the affected budgies: If you have multiple budgies, separate the affected ones from the rest to prevent the mites from spreading. Thoroughly clean the cage: Remove all items from the cage and clean them with a bird-safe disinfectant. Pay special attention to perches, toys, and other accessories. Dispose of any bedding or substrate that may harbor mites. Wash cage accessories: Soak cage accessories in warm water with a bird-safe disinfectant for about 15 minutes. Scrub them gently to remove any mites or debris, then rinse thoroughly and let them dry completely before placing them back in the cage. Treat the budgies for mites: Consult with a veterinarian to determine the most appropriate treatment for your budgies.
