What you all are doing is nothing short of a miracle from God. I can never thank you guys enough. Take care of Josiah Daniel, and, if you can, you should teach him and Naomi Hebrew! Imagine speaking a Biblical language natively-now that's a thought 😮

I wanted to cry that Israel had to ask Joseph who those two boys even were!! And also that I totally understood what you were reading!! Even though I admit, I play it on .75 the playback speed😆, I am still understanding almost all the sentences without having to look at the screen. Just listening. Thank you soooo much, beautiful woman!

Hey guys! At 15:30 you have a typo: it reads בְּנוּ and should be בְּנוֹ. We're supplementing our classes at Southern with these. Thank you for your excellent work!

Greetings! 😁 Thanks, unfortunately we can't fix typos without uploading a whole new video, but we try to note known typos in the descriptions. Blessings on your studies!

At 15:26 there is an error in the script for "his son," it should be בְּנוֹ? Thank you so much for these videos! They are top quality! I teach a small Hebrew class at our homeschool coop, and we really enjoy them.
@AlephwithBeth3 жыл бұрын
Yes, thanks, there are definitely a few typos here and there that slip past us. When you spot an error, you can check the description of the video to see if we've made a note of it. If not, we may not be aware of it yet. So glad your homeschool co-op class is enjoying learning Hebrew with us, that's awesome! I (Beth) was homeschooled too, and have been in my fair share of co-op classes in my time ☺

It is a very good lesson, thank you so much! The only problem is that, for beginners like me, it is not clear whether the lesson is about present or past tense. Please add that somewhere (maybe in the description).

In some of these lessons it looks like you are reading from a paper back Hebrew Bible. Where could I get a copy? BTW, I’m from Michigan too.
@AlephwithBeth2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Hannah. This whole series in only in Biblical Hebrew, which is on purpose! Your natural way of learning language is through listening. Eventually, as you work through the lessons, you will learn the alphabet and all spoken words will appear on the screen. We do have Lesson Scripts available on our Resources page under "Read along with the Aleph with Beth videos": freehebrew.online/resources/ You can see what the Hebrew words are in the document and look them up in the dictionary here if you would like: semanticdictionary.org/semdic.php?databaseType=SDBH&language=en

In the previous videos we learn that the "y'or" is the "hanahar hagadol asher b'eretz mitzraym" (the big river that is in the land of egypt) or the Nile River.

I dont get the diffrence betwen אמר and דבר. Can you explain it?
@AlephwithBeth3 жыл бұрын
It's similar to the difference between the verbs "say" and "speak/talk" in English. אמר "he said" introduces a direct quote usually, while דבר means "he spoke"
