Seeing this for the first time and I had tears in my eyes - not just because we all now know what she endured from a monster but also because this man who took her as his wife is clearly so in love with her and she him! When I first saw you on my screen Cassie… I thought you were so big and amazing. I thought surely you’d be one of the singers at the top, and I expected to see you among the rest… I wondered why when I watched women like you, amerie, kelis, and many others stolen from, sidelined, and shelved; while certain people remained so up high. I started to think the top was looking lonely. I wondered why artists why you weren’t there. And you shed light on why singers like me and my mother didn’t go for it… I have no regrets. I will forge a different path. I will make my own music quietly and publish it myself, and if no one notices it, I’ll be okay with that. :) Because lots of people like Cassie already sang.
