@@gianrome9179 of course we know. Saying something happened or not is not defamation of character. However, stating these parents are liars and their children really didn't die or they didn't actually have the kids named can be defamation. But if there's going to be a defamation lawsuit, then absolutely all facts about what happened or didn't happen should be addressed. Not because someone go their feelings hurt because a person said it didn't happen. I'd be willing to bet all of the people involved in the sandy hook deal have had death threats. In some Jurisdictions the Judge will allow questions from Jurors. It is within the Judge's discretion. When a witness is failing to answer questions directly, or avoiding doing so, the Court may comment, instruct or admonish the witness. These witnesses are hilarious in the audacity that they think that the Jury will miss. I would not be as patient as the Court here.

the court has already scolded this witness multiple times.. she knows exactly what the witness is trying to do. on top of this, the defense wanted to admit video evidence and the judge said 'your witness just sat here and said they all don't remember these videos so good luck admitting this'... the judge knows exactly what's happening.

"a master". This isn't LucasArts. It's an technocratic, inhuman presentation as opposed to simply writing down and bringing human emotion into the setting while connecting with people. If the judgement is based on who is using PowerPoint over who doesn't waste time on A/V theatrics, it isn't Jones and the defense should be worried, it's everyone. If the basic freedoms of speech and free thought are determined and voted on by who has better graphics, humanity loses. Meanwhile everyday in Seattle/Tacoma kids are being shot by kids and the local government releases them back to their respective gangs because 'no kid jails' Armed drug gangs are terrorizing shop owners, innocent people cannot defend themselves, police response time is ridiculous. Giving theses families 'boatloads' of money will do nothing. It will silence one man, it will do nothing to stop people being murdered by criminals

@Annon_28 I think they were referring to the other cases that are going in between the families and the gun manufactures.

We’ve accepted hatred and lies as regular American conversation and political discourse and we don’t care. America is not a good place if you think hurting people that are grieving is ok for fame and money and political power.

If you think hurt feelings are the precedent for removing free speech, especially when no names were mentioned, then you're what's wrong with this country.

We have not. That’s why there is a trial and they are being sued for defamation. If we have accepted lies and hate we wouldn’t bother and their wouldn’t be a law or any recourse. Maybe 1/3 - or less than half of this country are fine with it as long as it serves their purpose. But that’s not the rest of US.
