Two years of right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’s text messages have now been turned over to the House select committee investigating the January 6 insurrection. The messages were first revealed in court last week in Austin, Texas, just before a jury ordered InfoWars host Alex Jones to pay $4.1 million in compensatory damages and $45.2 million in punitive damages to the parents of Jesse Lewis, a 6-year-old boy killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Newtown, Connecticut. For years Alex Jones spread conspiracy theories that the Newtown shooting was a government hoax and the victims’ families were paid actors, resulting in online harassment and death threats for Sandy Hook families. “He will never change, but it does send a message … that this is just so important to push back against the lies and disinformation,” says New York Times reporter Elizabeth Williamson, who covered the case and is the author of “Sandy Hook: An American Tragedy and the Battle for Truth.”

Jones never lied about Sandy hook. The whole thing was weird as fuck, and you didn't have to listen to Alex Jones to know that. The hours of video released by mainstream media, with the full cooperation and support of the families involved, for the purposes of influencing public opinion on the incident (and also ensure that the many money grubbing schemes were well publicised) were beyond bizarre. All that video is long gone now of course, but Democracy Now was around back then and are well aware of what I am saying. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Furthermore, much has been made of similarities between Uvalde and the earlier Newtown event. For instance, why is it that follow-up news stories continued to discuss details of the Uvalde shooting? For example, that an outside door was left ajar, supposedly by a teacher. Then, that the police were sort of hands-off with regard to the shooter, doing more to bar parents from the school than making any serious attempt to stop the shooter. Then, many such follow-up stories are released and retracted, which some may find curious.

I believe lawsuits are the proper way to handle this not arbitrary tech censorship. He will pay millions. The cap is twice damages + 750,000$ per plantiff so it's likely he will pay 10-12 million dollars.
