The thing is that if he wasnt Alex Jones, and if it was You, there would not be even a court case. The only reason why he got a court case is because he is not a person the government and people in power like. He is a whistleblower. They hate him for that. @@Redmenace96 what does your reality stand on? What guarantees reality continues as it does? Just the empirical method? The method which has been trough several paradigm shifts over last couple centuries and is pretty much guaranteed to have paradigm shifts in the future as well. Which has lead big parts of the scientific community into this post modern constructivism where they question if reality even really exists, whether it's not a human construct instead of a constant for everyone as classic positivism claims. It's where many progressive values come from. It's a pretty reasonable continuation of not having a solid ground to have general reality stand on. "Reality" isn't as straightforward as you make it seem. You have to realize we are raised within a certain paradigm and worldview, a way of interpreting data, and it is very difficult to one realize there are other paradigms which exist and that they are also reasonable. It's messy, we're all inside some deep belief system and if you don't believe you are, it just means you're very deep, beyond realizing deep cause it shaped your worldview that much. Paradigms and science philosophy does not exist in a vaccuum, it is loaded with subjective interpretation and values. Data needs to be interpreted.

And the same type of person that would fall for that scam in the first place would also be too proud to admit they might just be dumb enough to fall for it, so when criticized they'll double down regardless of how crazy the lies get. I've said it before, the court needs to place an injunction on him forbidding him from discussing his legal proceedings on his show or on social media. All of these decisions will ultimately be toothless if he still comes out ahead by leveraging his losses into more money.

I’ve had the misfortune to be seated at a table next to the one Jones was seated at in a restaurant here in Austin a number of years ago. He was dining with one other person and the restaurant was a quiet one. He talked inappropriately loudly for close to an hour, not letting his dining companion get a word in the entire time. This was back before he was nationally known; he was just the host of a cable-access show at the time. The thing that stood out to me was the way he blinked - it wasn’t just that he blinked way too often, far more than a normal person would, but that he blinked by squeezing his eyes shut. It was like he was tightly squeezing his eyes shut every five seconds. For the entire hour. He looked (and sounded) very mentally ill. They talked about it briefly in the video with "piercing the corporate veil". Basically, if you try to create a bunch of companies to play shell games with, the court can investigate and determine that the companies are a sham with no legitimate purpose and treat them as the same entity. On a tangent, Hollywood likes to play similar games with royalties which is why they have a thing called "Hollywood Accounting". Studio promises a writer X% of the Net Income from the film, but then says that said film *lost* money after they had to pay for the distribution, marketing, etc. Nevermind how the same studios also own these distribution and marketing companies.

@@lluewhyn A tangent to your tangent: there’s this thing in Hollywood called the C-47. It’s a simple clothespin, and is quite useful for clipping two things together temporarily. It’s considered an expendable. But why not just call it a clothespin? A clever and dishonest production manager started putting the renamed item as a line item in the production budget. And he greatly inflated the price. And then he formed a side company that would sell “C-47s” at these inflated prices to the production. Imagine buying a thing for 5¢ and then charging much more. Multiply by a thousand for each production you’re budgeting.

So I have been following this case, mainly through this channel, and recently I've been cast in a show called 26 pebbles. It's about the lives of the families, and the community of Newtown before, during and after the shooting. It's a very heavy show, but has a great message about the importance of community. When I first heard about it I thought about Alex Jones and I guess what I'm trying to say is that through this I'm trying to undo some of the misinformation that he spreads, if only within my community

Sandy Hook happened on the day my mom graduated from nursing school. We came home to the awful news. She wanted to celebrate, but it felt inappropriate, so we didn't. I filmed and took so many pictures of that day. I've barely looked at any of it because the shooting hangs over all of it. That license has absolutely changed her life, such as helping her get out of an emotionally abusive relationship (she told me that something nobody can take away from you is knowledge. When she saw the writing was on the wall, even after a year's breakup in which she/we moved out and then they got back together again, she decided to start focusing on getting her license), and in turn has allowed her to help us "kids" when we've lost jobs, like I did earlier this year when nearly everyone at the company I worked for was laid off after December. That license means a lot to us and it just sucks we can never think on that day without the shooting also being a part of it. Denying that it ever happened ticks me off because it's like saying my family avoided celebrating over nothing. I know, that's very miniscule compared to what these families have gone through, and yes, first and foremost I'm absolutely thrilled that they fought back against Jones' gross ass lies and have been winning. I hope they drain him of everything and everyone stops associating with him, but there's always going to be some idiot who supports him. Well, that's just more money in the pockets of the victims, so keep it coming! But since we couldn't celebrate for my mom (and rescheduling doesn't change the fact, that would just highlight it more), I'll take watching Jones go broke instead.

@ryan48888 No, but being paroanoid about everything is counterproductive and stokes fear-mongering, flinching at even your own shadow.

@@BewareTheLilyOfTheValley Keep letting children die, waiting over an hour for someone to save them. You're a coward, and a brainlet. Btw, trans are still eligible to get drafted. Sweety. I like how you think it's a joke for kids to be shot in cold blood.

Now that I have children going to grade school, cases like this really resonate within. I started my adult life by going into debt in order to practice a passion for structural engineering; Perhaps, in the second half of my adult life, I will go into debt to practice a passion for law. This channel certainly helps in stoking the flame.
