Within the days following Alex Murdaugh’s conviction and sentencing for murdering his wife and son, the disgraced lawyer was placed into isolation away from other inmates for his own safety. The family killer is being held at Kirkland Correctional Institution in Columbia, South Carolina for 45 days during an evaluation period, where many factors will be analyzed to determine where the disbarred attorney will be incarcerated indefinitely to serve his two consecutive life sentences. Murdaugh’s defense attorney, Richard Harpootlian, claims he’s received a barrage of insults and threats, both throughout and after the trial. The Law&Crime Daily team has the details.

Well, this is what this hate mob created. 2 years of a podcast that primed this community to become oblivious to the law process and not even care. I watched ONE singular episode about the boat case and I was shocked at how defendants and defense attorneys are portrayed. Filing simple motions, as we would hope any defense attorney would do, were looked upon as "Up to no good" and "Evil law tactics". A big part of the public payed attention to all the wrong things in this case and many Americans can and are in the same boat but with NO money for a defence like this. What's the popular saying??? "But it's Alex Murdaugh, so who cares!?"

It's not as if Paul was the adult who forced a bunch of underage kids onto his boat. They each made the poor decision to knowingly board a boat w/one of them drunk at the wheel. Not to mention they'd already nearly collided w/the Woods Swing Bridge earlier in the night (while aboard the boat) on their way to go bar-hopping before they later re-boarded the boat which then crashed. I'd like anyone to explain to me why they would be any less responsible to knowingly get into any mode of transportation w/a drunk at the wheel than the drunk at the wheel.
