@@goldenboy140 You’ve been watching too much Shaun Jones(jk, can’t get enough of SJ) 😂. It offers protection against swelling, cuts, and bruises. These are things you do not want happening a week before going into a big fight. Also it protects against fractures. Even those in the nose, despite them not fully covering the area. The gloves, being as big as they are, typically bounce off the sides of the headgear and prevent direct hits to the nose.

the reason for this, and it's explained by some coaches, they want to build the confidence of their fighter, and their training partner is there to get the fighter ready for their fight. If the roles were in reverse, it would be Alex's time to get beat up. When training with the fight team and they have a fight coming up, I don't go as hard as them, and I don't throw a bunch of unorthodox strikes. but if no one is getting ready for a fight, the sparring is way more competitive and even

@@luciomagno6195 That's kinda just how sparring with a fighter before a fight is. You go 50% while they go 75% and kick your ass, lol. It's sad that that how it has to work but tuning people up is how you get better. Same reasons boxers love tune up fights. Fighting somebody way under your level is a great way to learn. People love to say "you win or you learn" but in reality you learn way more when you're getting positive feedback for being successful than just getting negative feedback for making mistakes all day long. Knowing Learning exactly what to do for success is way more useful than learning one of the 8 million things not to do. All I'm saying is, don't treat a sparring match like it means anything. Then I started posting daily in January 2023 and I was getting around 30-50 views with 1k subs. The channel was dead. But I just stuck with it and believed in myself. I told myself if I get to 10k subs by December I'd be super happy. Turned out to be 105k subs by December! You have to be consistent but also be aware enough to know when something isn't working and switch it up or try something new. what i have noticed is, Alex always seems to be the one landing the more significant strikes, like he gets caught a few times here by this behemoth of a boxer, but when he lands for example he breaking noses or stunning his opponents, this was a light spar, its hard for men this big to spar light aah id say it quickly went to medium strikes because of ego's ahah if you watch alex spar his son on that mindsmash channel ( ps not promoting the channel you can really see what light sparring is on that video, the guy is semi annoying always speaking like hes saying something profund in every vid aha) that is true light sparring, its beautiful to watch, you can really hone your craft with true light sparring, this was light but not really. watch alex's eyes when hes getting hit, he rarely moves because he's constantly looking to capitalize on his opponents openings with KO blows, this can be taken of advantage off also, but he seems so good at it, he rarely does get caught with a true ko shot! ps shaun your quite good at breaking down fighting brom always enjoy your takes! also your right shaun they are building alex's confidence, this boxer could go harder but hes gracious enought to go light take some shots, so alex can work, because hes the one fighting! he may also get future work from this which is cash money! great takes

if they didn't tell the boxer to go light he would fuck up Alex, and that's the thing this was sparring and they was secretly telling Alex to go hard and then mess up the boxers nose, that's the only reason why Alex was getting better with the last rounds, he caused damage to the boxer in a "light" sparring match, and the head movement of Alex is because with all this sparring with boxers he's getting to become a good boxer himself, if boxer's devouted themselves to learn grappling and kicking they dominate MMA, Petr Yan is good example, and Yes Yan got robbed and is undefeated to anyone that knows fighting

You do realize he was a double champ in glory before he ever did mma, right? No shit he's a good boxer, he's already a legendary one, not becoming one. The broken nose was accidental, these dudes are super powerful so when you turn the notch up a bit on sparring like that it can just happen sometimes. He probably would have knocked him out with that if he was actually going hard, I don't think he was trying to just have a punching bag. He's far from new to this, idk wtf you're on about. Alex is training focusing on knockouts. The Boxer is focusing on saving energy and undermining the opponent, only aiming for the head when space opens up. But Alex is closing the distance, as the low punches aren't serious, he continues to force the game on his opponent's head. If it were a serious fight, Alex would already be weakened by the blows to the body.

Good sparring but pretty set up against the Australian boxer. Team Pereira said easy sparring but in doing so Alex started to pick up the pace and the flow turned into hard sparring. What I don't like about it is the fact that the heavyweight, if he knew the flow, would have changed tactics early on and not gotten so double teamed. So for me, it wasn't fair. This is all building up for the possibility of a Pereira Vs Aspinall heavyweight fight in the next 18mths. Aspinall already has a bit of a complex with Pereira. And let's be honest, no one in the heavyweight division is going to get near Aspinall, even Bones would lose to Aspinall. So if Pereira can keep on course, I think we are going to get some amazing action down the line between the two. Only question, has Pereira got and ground game, because he would need a form of it against Aspinall. That's the main fight I want to see in the next 18-24mths.

Boxer is Dempsey McKean (something like that), he fought hrgovic on a Saudi card and was unseated till that point. He would KO pereira in boxing with ease if he wanted to

Telling Dempsey to go lighter is just as much about letting Alex get into a flow and feeling his skill and technique as much as it is not getting an injury before a fight. I doubt Alex wanted to hurt the guy but a broken nose is a very easy injury to obtain.

I think their definition of "light" is the next to the border of getting an injury,Peireira is known for sparring hard but dude's way bigger than Alex so if he was bothered about Alex going hard he could easily go even harder

@@gs-nq6mw That’s exactly the case. Poatan could’ve definitely went harder, but that wasn’t what is was for. He just hits Extremely Hard as he has the Best Fight IQ for a Standup Fighter in either division. If he went at 30% then he could KO I guy that doesn’t train EASILY. There is a huge difference for a boxer if they are sparring or in a match. Boxing is a long strategy gameplan, here they don't have points, they are only 4 rounds no goal for winning. If Pereira tries boxing official in actual match he is going to find out... What did he take out of that, he did 4 rounds with the same stuff? A boxer must be adapting, trying combos, setting up attacks... He is just a brutal fighter, far more rough than any boxer...
