I love this. Makes me wish the original version hadn't pussied out during the solo and kept the 7/8 beat going instead of switching to 4/4.

This is true. Either way, Money is in 7, but it's usually considered 7/4. And it's definitely NOT 5/4. Take Five is obviously in 5/4 (it's well known for its groovy 5/4 head), but Money is in 7/4. It has that distinct "2 bars of 4 skipping a beat" feel.
