In this video, I'll cover Alex's Powerbomb.
Particularly, I will cover his TRUE kara powerbomb.
I wanted this video to cover option select parry/tech/powerbomb as well, but I kind of ran out of time. Video editing is tricky business. I was also very eager to get this one out.

I can't WAIT for parry option-selects. I've always been curious about this, since of course I get accidentally parries / blocks while doing the power-bomb motion on my opponent's wake-up. Thank you so much for these!

Thank you! Don't get your hopes too high! It's mostly gonna be something simple like always doing powerbomb with LP+LK to os throw tech, and that you can OS parries by breaking the motion into 3 separate pieces.

YYYOOOOOOOO I FINAAAALLLLYYYY learned how to Kara Powerbomb! it really took me a while, but by drilling into myself the timing of reguler kara grab and repeatedly drilling in 6321LP I was able to put the whole thing together! LLEEETTTTTTSSSSS GGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Excellent. I couldn’t find any application for the Kazuya bomb and not only was it difficult/unreliable with my inputs, but if you whiff a stand jab against someone you’re gonna die in this game since already people aren’t afraid to pressure Alex. This is way better, looks easier, and doesn’t force you to whiff a different move. I’m excited to lab it.

Yeah man. I love how genius the Kazuya bomb is but it's been 20 years, I shouldn't have been the one to find a real Kara for powerbomb when the answer is so simple.

u can also do this with lp power bomb by double tapping lp technically u don't even need to double tap u can just single tap because it's the negative edge that actually gets the power bomb but i just find the timing easier if i double tap i also just today realised u can do kara throw from crouch block just by inputting throw and then releasing as u stand up, since u get crouch tech/cr.lp on the throw input and then standing up gives u negative edge throw with the cr.lp kara range, might be useful for some punishes

Is the kara 'bomb slower than a regular one then, since you have to whiff the cr.jab? Just wondering it's worth it to always go for the kara version.

It's 2 frames slower. One frame for the kara cancel and another frame for the difference of MP Powerbomb's startup. Theoretically, you could make it a frame quicker (and give it more range) by negative edging the cr. Jab a single frame after it is pressed, but I don't think that's practical.

I'm still working on seriously implementing the kara powerbomb and other techniques into my gameplan. I'm really trying to improve my gameplan and overall play currently. I've considered posting some gameplay or montages but my gold standard for footage is tournament play and I don't have enough examples for a montage or to use in my videos enough to make my point. I want to make one soon though! I have a lot of fun making these videos and that would be really interesting.
