velvet elvis is really an old portrate or art peice that was made in the 60's. It was black velvet (or whatever colour) stretched out in a frame and whoever made them origanally drew elvis on it.

for those who do not know, google velvet elvis. they were cheesy art from the early to late 70's . they were everywhere. they've become collectible, at least the original 70's era ones, which is rather hysterical. nowadays there are even reproductions of cheesy 70's art.
