Sometimes it doesn't matter how you get there, but a draw was a fair result for this fight. You can talk about Bell giving the 10-8 round, but you can also argue quite convincingly that Grasso won the 4th round and two judges gave that to Valentina. It is what it is, but a draw overall was absolutely fair. This was such a close fight. I know we hate draws, but we should see more of them when it's this close. We obviously need a trilogy but I am not sure I want to see it next. Need to let this one mature a bit for the people to not get bored of the same fight over and over again. Say Valentina wins the next one by close decision, we end up back here again asking for them to roll it back. Park it for a bit and let's see it again 2 or 3 fights down the line. Well done both women, it was a cracking fight.

Shevchenko got robbed of two Champion Fights (Nunez/Grasso); not right. Granted was a razor close fight but 10-8 should have been 10-9 giving Shevchenko Win.

I disagree. 10-8 and even 10-7 should be allowed scores in the UFC format. The main purpose of the 10-point must system was an effort established in the early years of boxing in order to reward a boxer for every knockdown. The problem with that early scoring format was that if one opponent was knocked down 3 times in each of the first two rounds, the score would be 2-10 (1 point for winning the round and 3 for each knockdown). As you can see, this would make it pretty much impossible for the trailing opponent to win a 15-round decision. When the 15-round title fights were set back to 12 rounds in the early 80's the standing 8-count became more common not only to protect the fighter but also to minimize high score offsets. By the time 10-9 became more common, some non-punching boxers and trainers realized that winning a round convincingly, was just as good as barely winning and so, the style of boxing started to change, including the lax enforcement of the boxing rules. The boxing scoring format should NOT be applied to the UFC/MMA. The UFC format is a short 3 or 5-round competition that should reward fighters for knockdowns, submission attempts, escapes, and the like. At this point, the UFC is better off having 5 or 100 judges and using percentages/averages for every round in order to eliminate the lopsided scores.

Mike bell should never be allowed to judge a fight again!!! A 10-8 in round five was crazy..... especially considering Val shoulda gotten a 10-8 for round 3, which was WAY more dominant for her than round 5 was for Grasso. Val won all of round 3 and almost finished her with the mounted guillotine, while Grasso only won the last minute - 1.5 minutes of round 5. That bull💩 was a work for UFC Noche and it's disgusting how bad the judges are!! I don't blame Grasso but I do blame Mike Bell..... but Grasso needs to stop saving "I won".... bc no u didn't! U were gifted a draw by an incompetent judge who doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground and doesn't know wtf he's watching. Don't get what the problem is if you do a number 1 contender fight vs one of the contenders. Right person left with the belt because it's what was best for business. I have to say this was one of the best skilled fights i've seen in a min. It's actually more enjoyable to watch skilled women fight in MMA. I'm getting tired of the calf-kicks heavy kick-boxing approach. They actually employed all the martial arts: judo throws, boxing, wrestling, bjj. I have little interest in watching Adesanya point fighting again. The grappling exchanges, even with their errors, reminded me just how hard Grasso has worked to complete her game. The game is no longer hospitable to specialists. The coaching is too good & the tactics are too potent. You can only be a specialist if you are a cardio machine like Merab & Colby. Other than that, Aljermain, Kamaru, Adesanya futures are looking shaky.

Only round 1 is debatable. 10 - 9 Shevchenko (only round that is debatable.) 10 - 9 Grasso (knockdown from a punch that led to Grasso almost finishing fght) 10 - 9 Shevchenko (Shevchenko almost won the fight here.) 10 - 9 Grasso with heavy knees to side of head (knees were legal cause Grasso kept Shevchenko hands from touching mat - if both touched mat it would have been different.) Ps. A cut may be more visible damage but clearly knees cause more damage than other strikes especially ones that cause swelling. 10 - 9 for Grasso (Shevchenko was winning exchanges for longer but Grasso had her in clear danger of being submitted.) Round 2 could have gotten a 10 to 8 for Grasso. Round 3 could have gotten a 10 to 8 for Shevchenko. They were even more clear rounds than 4 and 5.
