I think the discussion about being kind to everyone you interact with daily bringing so much happiness is golden. Almost everyone appreciates and responds to being noticed and having recognition no matter how brief that interaction may be. In today's world, we tend ignore everyone we pass. Being kind and recognizing others is the most human characteristic we have. It truly brings me much joy.

I felt that Uhtred was the big story. Without him, i wouldn't have cared about the smaller story of uniting the kingdoms. I was watching to see Uhtred finally get back to his birthright and to finally stop being tortured.

One of the most important factors in making The Last Kingdom a series that will ultimately be recognized as one of the great historical dramas of the decade(century:)?) comes to the fore in this podcast. Alexander Dreymon is revealed To be an individual of self-effacing wit, courage, and generosity of spirit; attributes which shine through in his compelling portrayal of Uhtred so brilliantly! He is a noble man!
@arpitamukherjee6783 Жыл бұрын
Alexander Dreymon made me wish Uhtred to be true. He has bought Uhtred to life. Although the character must have took a toll on him where he must have acted scenes against his personality, he portrayed it very well. The way he has portrayed the Uhtred who runs away after the massacre of his family, loses so much on his journey and finally returns to his home shows the growth of a person in life. I wish he does such work in future

Would love to see this fabulous and very unashamedly human actor in a psychological thriller! What a delightful and intelligent person. Emotions are perfectly acceptable. We all have the right to experience them, however, how we choose to behave during the negative IS most valid. Being honest and kind to yourself is most important.

Just finished watching “The Last Kingdom” and the movie, Alexander is an amazing actor. The character of Uthred portrayed by Alexander shows resilience, and patience. Surprisingly enough in that era, Uthred’s openness to accept different cultures, personalities and respecting differences is really heart warming. It is great to hear Alexander on this podcast and know him a little about his fondness of meditation and exploration of self.

Uhtred has such a painful life. He loses so many loved ones. His relationships always end in some sort of death. His life is so hard to deal with. The ending is amazing he sees his loved ones living and sees his afterlife is real. Such a emotional story. I loved his portraiture of uhtred. His is a great actor. I just loved the show.

Im late to this episode, but i thoroughly enjoyed it. I admire Alexander Dreymon as an actor - he is a multidimentional person that is able to create different levels of himaelf at once, while also being able to center himself on what is most important to him. We can easily lose sight of that in our everyday humdrum, so taking the time to listen to the podcast with a guest that i enjoy learning from has made it easy to take a nugget of what i need to really improve in my life as well as things that i can really just let go of each day rather than not holding on to things that are inconsequential to the long term big picture.

With their friends and themselves would have parties and do stupid stuff with the pool and they could find fun in life again. Nerd guns became and adult game at Christmas. There is times in your adult life that you need to just play on a swing and relax and enjoy life again. Everybody needs to find play again.

Primates are silly animals. It's so important to be able to frolic and goof around. It's a stress reliever that lowers the cortisol that is so damaging. I very seldom am drawn to actors. Alexander's portrayal of Uhtred is the first time I've ever been emotionally connected to a character in such a way that I mourned the ending of the show. I literally came to KZbin to watch whatever I could find related to The Last Kingdom just bc the end of the saga left me feeling empty. I'm so glad that I have gotten a glimpse into Alexander, now because it shows that Uhtred was a manifestation of him. I really hope another series comes forth that he can breathe life into a character in the same way.

Men and women, as nature has designed, are different in many ways, so that relationships among the same gender are often times more relaxed, spontaneous, clicking in the same wavelength. Relationship between a man &a woman either in marriage, as partners, or in friendship is in another level .. warmth comfort, greater understanding to the person's idiosyncracies, love as the bedrock of life's challenges. Alexander Dreymon's thoughts on relationships are quite interesting, so glad that he values them, contributing to his attitude and the richness of his life.

Meditation , therapy, communication and connection are all very essential to all of us. But the answers you're looking for can all be found in one place. Pick up a Bible just once. Open it near the center, read for 10 min and you will discover a wealth of information , counsel, KINDNESS, and personal, emotional, creative, connective skills you won't believe. Just try it, please. For your soul and your sake. And your children. 😊

Brilliant episode! Thank you very much, I really enjoyed it! And I really can relate to all these topics, loving being angry at the moment and hating it, when anger is gone. The perception of how short is humans life made me becoming more open to the people around me and to the world, trying and learning new things without fear, trying to be kind and suppress that anger. It changed my life and I got much happier. And that zero space policy, it is something what I practice intuitively towards my husband (now I know the definition to that 😁) Alex, thanks for sharing all that stuff and for not being afraid to be that humble and vulnerable ✨ it's very helping to hear men's perspective to understand them better. We really enjoyed The Last Kingdom and I was so in love with Uhtred character. But for sure you portrayed the perfect human, his life was sooo tough, no way a human can handle it unbroken, still with great kindness in heart, being able to forgive and always find way out to the light. Or it is possible? P.S.: Dan, thanks for podcast. I think you got a new fan. That stuff with losing ego just blew my mind! On my way to hear episode with my another crush Arthur Brooks 💕

Actually not a Viking, a Anglo Saxon by birth, until he was nine and was adopted into a Viking family. He then identified as a Viking, but oddly spent his entire adult life fighting for the Anglo Saxon's. And the character from the Books was not so nice, that's just Dreymon.
@thomasmain5986 Жыл бұрын
@@sabinemorgner24 Not sure I remember him as being cheeky, he is a large man capable of violence, he never forgets he is the son of a Lord, his sense of destiny comes from that, entitled if you like. Is he like Dreymon I think not, Dreymon has modern charisma. The Uhtred of the books has a sense of destiny people follow him for that reason. We are to believe that it is out of love and friendship that people follow Dreymon's Uhtred's. Well maybe, but as this show is fictional it's a moot point.

Too many sex scenes of Uhtred with all his ladies, sorry... Nothing against sex scenes per se, but these veered into fan service and laddish hero worship. It was a mistake on the writers' part, also considering so many other fascinating aspects of the story were rushed. My two pennies'...

If I remember correctly there were two scenes in season 1 and one scene in season 2. I am happy that it that was rare. The naked baptism scene in season 4 was unnecessary, felt that was a fan service and did not add to the story. Was happy though that the language was clean. I really irks me when they incorporate f's into a period drama.

@@sabinemorgner24 - Don't be very silly, I'm not "in love" with Dreymon at all, nor am I a "jealous female". It would be nice to have a conversation on any topic without it sounding like an exchange between intellectually challenged pre-teens. I actually adore sex scenes when they're well done - for instance, some of my favorite movies are by French director Catherine Breillat, who explores female fulfillment via eroticism. I'm speaking largely as a writer (I work in the comic industry): there was an imbalance in the sex scenes that were shown involving the protagonist (as if he were some sort of early medieval James Bond) and those of other characters. It doesn't doom the series, which is still great, but it's a criticism that I qualified as my "Two pennies", so subjective and personal. Next time don't assume you're speaking to a gibbering fool: it doesn't reflect well on you.
@danielaf1487 Жыл бұрын
@@KristiinaBerg - Perhaps there ought to have been a few (tame ones, not necessarily graphic) of other characters, too. Just so we don't get the feeling that Uhtred is James Bond in the 9th century, haha! Other than that, I'm a fan of TLK for a million reasons.
