So, identical to the second and third, again. Socialist pretending this time it will be completely different. And, blaming all the world evil on USA, something every socialist movements have been doing since, Ragnar Redbeard book was written.

Basically, Russia hasn't exited 19th century nationalism. With that, they have every reason to be distrustful of the Euro-American international order. The neoliberal Washington Consensus policies pursued by America after the fall of the USSR were unconscionable.

Excellent essay on a moderate view with a western perspective but, It gives me another 1 /4 of the story after listening to Alexander interview with Pepe Escobar. The final 1/2 will be the readily available western extreme and the evasive Chinese opinion. The truth has many sides.

Dugin certainly has some valid points: - extreme liberalism leads to degeneracy and gradually evolves into fascism - the current system is unsustainable and multipolar world will emerge regardless - the current hegemony of the United States doesn't suit anyone including American citizens But his fourth political Theory leaves more questions unanswered rather than answered - Russian lead Eurasian Empire and subsequently Russian lead world is in direct contradiction with his multipolar vision. It replaces American hegemony with Russian hegemony - he doesn't say anything about economic system. Is it supposed to be based on free market or or some form of socialism? - what mechanisms are in place to prevent total usurpation of power by Russia/ Russian dictator and thus tyranny?

I agree this whole theory shallow anyway leads to replacement of USA with Russia in leading role. And of course contradiction multipolar arrangement vs leading Russia. The rivalry between the West and Russia is nothing new in European history. Setting g philosophy aside what counts mainly is proportions, potential, and size. Russia is huge and bigger then Europe with all its achievement. Russian aspirations should be seen as based on the physical world not philosophical or moral argumentation.

Might want to stick to political science basics and avoid terminology like extreme liberalism. But if you must, the vast majority of the relative minority of what would be considered extreme liberals in a political sense is are vaguely more aligned with classic radical liberalism. They come in different flavors, mostly libertarian and fascist. They either want the state to not exist so that they can be a localized repressive state, or they want a grander repressive state. Both of these "extreme liberal" elements want progressivism to cease through violence and or state repression. If you're talking about progressives as extreme liberals, usually the political rhetorical avenue to criticize that is to call them socialists or communists, not fascists. Whether you're trying to call them fascists or communists, either way it's a confusing of political science. Progressivism is its own thing and has had a long tradition within liberal democracy and even used to broadly overlap with conservatism, ie appealing to religion to better society. Political extremists tend to be characterized as armed and organized on the basis of violence, or are otherwise individually motivated for fatal and revolutionary violence. If it's non violent in essence, then it's generally not extremist. Antifa for example is extremist, in so far as they are willing to use violence to stop violence. But there wouldn't be antifa showing up if it weren't for the Fa that show up. And you wouldn't have non violent progressive student protesters showing up if you didn't have conservatives and liberals advocating and implementing policies of state repression at home and violence abroad. Hopefully that clarifies some things for you. The only elements that would arguably qualify as liberal extremists are the fascists themselves. So you might as well not confuse terminology at all and just call them fascists. Yes, perhaps, for a term paper, you could arguably call militias in the woods training for government overthrow and usurpation liberal fascists, or pro Zionist Democrats like Biden liberal fascists, but it's extremely granular terminology. Dugin by contrast intends to be blunt and turn all this distinction into pulp. "Degeneracy" is fascist terminology. You'd be best to avoid it's usage or internalizing it ideologically... lest you politically degenerate yourself into fascism.

@@subcitizen2012 I should have said late stage liberalism rather than extreme liberalism. Dugin's theory is correct though, the further you push the liberation of the individual, the more repressive the system becomes. The system oppresses majority for the supposed rights of minorities. This inevitably leads to fascism, narrow group of elites controls all means of production and all political narratives. The path may lead through marxism as is apparent today but it won't change the end result. Degeneracy is a legitimate term, there's nothing fascist about it.

Dugin seems to be someone who strives towards peace, a sence of belonging, solidarity and stability, but look a bit further. Take a look on his own site and you will find that Dugin is a warmonger, not a Prince of Peace as soo many of his followers try to depict him.

Samuel Huntington and Alexander Dugin use the same unit of analysis, i.e., civilizations. The big difference is that they use it to advance the interest of their respective countries/civilizations. Dugin wrote years after Huntington. He sort of plagiarizing unless he gives credit in his writings to Huntington. I read neither, I get my education from YT.

It's weird how this video makes an unexamined West Good East Bad assumption as if liberal values were inherently and self evidently a good thing. Yet everything the video accuses Russia of being, America is no different - Jan 6 political prisoners, censorship of social media, setting up racial quotas that ignore anti-discrimination laws, rigging elections, etc. I would have thought in a video seeking to explore Eurasianism you'd keep the propaganda out of it.
