When I was eleven I began to participate in different big competitions on great stages. I understood that this was what I love ,my dream and my profession. (Related to a memory of the beginning of the career) Until now,my brightest memory was when I was eleven,I participated in the Astana Piano Passion Competition. It was my first performance with a big orchestra. I performed a Grieg piano concerto and it was an incredible experience. I thought 'what great power,what great feelings'. Getting on the stage I remember the feelings and they were really fantastic and unbelievable." Alexander Malofeev - Fondation Louis Vuitton Interview Jan 2019 kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIm8oqx6o5tqobc

@Stefanos Anastasiadis the only reason for my question was because he was so young here but I totally agree with you..... the mark of a genius is someone who not only possesses the technical skills at a very young age but also has possibly the photographic memory, great harmonic sense, knowledge of music history/theory and performs well -- possibly composes too. I'll definitely check out D. Sgouros ty

Absolutely stunning. Chills running up and down my whole body. The mature emotion and interpretive technical prowess of this child is almost unbelievable. It is hard to fathom that what I am hearing and seeing is actually real. Malofeev is the undeniable giant amongst any pianist of which I have ever had the pleasure of hearing perform. I cannot find these comments to be sensible since this is an eleven-year-old boy. Astounding!

I've watched parts of this video before but never watched it from beginning to end. Well, I just watched it in its entirety and I can hardly believe it. If Alexander would NOT have been as influenced by this experience as he was, we might not have the privilege to enjoy his amazing performances today. I know it's been said hundreds of times, but he truly is a blessing to the world of classical music. I hope he never tires of performing and never gets discouraged with the ups and downs of doing so.

Better than wonderful. He reminds me very, very much of the young Evgeny Kissin, more than 30 years ago. I did not know I would live to hear two such great child musicians. This has been a great privilege. I believe the Russian school of music teaching to be the best in the world, perhaps equaled only by Hungary.

@789armstrong
@789armstrong 3 жыл бұрын
Alexander is a great artist but he is still growing both musically and emotionally. Michelangeli's Grieg Concerto is like Rachmaninoff playing Rachmaninoff, incomparable and definitive. Surely an artist of Alexanders calibre would benefit and be moved by hearing the greatest of all interpretations.
