If there's ever been a painfully repetitious work by a classical composer, this is the mother of them all.

Me again here to listen to this piece. He is truly a music angel 👼

Mozart wrote this rondo or - more accurately - set of variations to please a rather pampered Viennese audience who liked a good lively tune - don't we all? So it is not one of his weightier compositions, and therefore well within the compass of young Alexander. He has perfectly grasped the nature of the piece - its lighthearted, tuneful playfulness - with skill and brilliance. These early performances of Alexander's augured the rising of a true star in the musical firmament of the twentieth century.

Given the fact that he played Grieg concerto at this age, this Rondo seems like a meh job.

There is an other Rondo for piano and orchestra as well. I believe it's KV 386..

Composure, command, confidence, clarity of note, tone and phrase, exuberant fluency, the sound of which the recording equipment does its best to spoil. That said Aleksander Malofeev, this living prodigy of brilliance, does not seem as challenged or inspired by this work of Mozart, fine as his performance is, as by some of Chopin, Grieg, Saint- Saens, Rachmaninoff, Liszt above all, and others. Then why should he be.
@leahmarie7563 жыл бұрын
Maybe not challenged...but he certainly seems inspired to me with his bobbing of head and rocking of shoulders. To me anyway it just seems that Alexander is always inspired by the music and conscious of the composers wishes, but adding his own flair to everything he plays. That's what makes him so incredibly enjoyable to watch and listen. A true blessing to music.
