@@militaryandemergencyservic3286 OR...could it be that Berezovsky is simply busier throughout his days working a profession and other obligations so has less time than the young student so needs to use the score. No big deal but I doubt he is sight-reading for a public performance. Either way, isn't this a delightful performance. Very well done by all!

Great performances - Alexander marvelous as always. Pity the video is so uninspired. Why is the camera stuck in one long shot when we can see multi-shots on a large screen visible to the audience? Please think when you are videoing music. Camera angles, close-ups, and timing are important and can enhance our understanding of the music. Heck - we can even see a cameraman wandering around in the foreground with a vast camera! Did he video anything interesting?

Yes, and notie that in the back shot of the pianos, Alexander is not seen at all. Why did the "Big Man" deliberately cut Alex out?? Note also that the big shot is playing from a score whereas Alexander plays from memory. I think we know who the professional is.

Playing without the score in recitals is the norm these days and has been for many years and most piano competitions insist on it. Berezovsky is the unusual one here - presumably he didn't have time to learn this particular piece.
