That's how I feel when I listen to i only said. That song, in particular, is supposed to convey what you are describing (nostalgia of a love that never happened). If I had to be honest, the entirety of loveless is that way in my opinion, and when the album ends off with the song soon, it is when the main character realizes that the nostalgic feelings they were having weren't really real and they want to move on and actually feel true love rather than nostalgic love that isn't real. I believe that's why the album was named loveless. Kevin Shields is an amazing musician and loveless is my favorite album ever.

The first time I heard this song I had a bad cold. I stumbled out my room when my dad said dinner was ready, and heard the little hook of this song playing while I fixed myself a bowl of food. Now every time I listen to it, I remember that moment, my dad has introduced me to a lot of my favorite songs and this is among one of them, it’s one of his favorites too. We’ve always been quite connected in our music taste.

this songs and this edit reminds me how i felt when my first girlfriend left me. i’ve loved her so much but she wasn’t feeling the same feelings, so it ended. that melancholy mixed with bitterness of replaying the same cd for see where did you made some errors. but after you understand that you were perfect, and that you haven’t done nothing and that you were perfect. it’s full of pain, but, if you love her, for her good you have to left her go away; even if this could be painful and so fucking sad.
