Prime example that a restaurant's size and ambiance is somewhat seperate from the food, and that if one aspect is done well enough, it makes up for the crammed space. They took the space they had and made something great from it.

Does a $80 Spoon Make House Made Ice Cream Taste Better??? NO.. So Why The Effort? To a Majority of Guests They Want to be at a place that they can feel like it is 100% okay to laugh out loud.. Jiro Documentary shows that a Sushi Bar In A Subway can get 3 Stars Michelin Broke Michelin.. Chefs Spend 3-5 Million hire 40 cooks and Struggle to Get 2 Stars What Is MISSING??? vs Fish, Rice, Vinegar.. The Point is Does Michelin Matter?? Should It Be Projected that 3M Star Place Is X.. NOMA had 1 Star when they made it to #1 Restaurant in world 50 World Best... CENTRAL Had and Has No Stars When They Made It #1. The Only Thing That Matters Is The Food... That Is Why Everyone Is There Is The Food... None Of That Other BS Matters... They Got Their First Star As a Hot Dog Space... Could They Have Gotten 2 With Out The FLUFF Yes...

@@Brooklyn_Hit I completley agree, you should come for the food. A lack of space, the ambiance ect. is important but the food being good makes up for a lack in the actual restauralt. However the restaurant can be incredible with expensive tables, big seating area ect. but of the food isn't up to expectations that can't be compensated for.

Was there in April. Wish I was there every day. Beautiful people, great service and amazing food...Chef James served us spotless dishes, despite his team (Arsenal) having a really tough night at the same time (he had his phone on the desk, watching, and cooking at the same time). I loved every second of it!

This has got to be the best food you have ever reviewed on this channel. And I watch you religiously. The way they infuse all their sauces, the toasting, the burnt garlic, every little attention to detail. Like you said, all those little hiccups are more than forgiven when the food is THIS stunning. I've never seen you at a loss for words when describing a dish--the dessert! Bravo, Kitchen Table.

Kitchen table was one of the first "high-end" restaurants I visited in London, when it was priced a LOT more modestly than it is now (the menu back in 2017 was about half the price of what's on offer today). I loved it. I still remember the dishes, I still remember the vibe and the chef. I've not watched the full video yet, but I am so happy this is in the channel.. One of their starters back then, crispy chicken skin with a bacon jam, is still one of the best things I've ever eaten.

As a chef with a fine dining background, I really like your videos as they are honest and appreciative of all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes and the attention to detail in all respects, from produce sourcing to preparation, to cooking to presentation. Your love of wines and your appreciation for the craft of both brought me to subscribe some time ago. I eagerly await your videos as I love to see such an honest appreciator give his honest opinion. Keep up the great work as it is rewarding to see someone focus on fine dining not as an expensive experience but as a rewarding one. One that takes a person on an exploration of tastes and textures that tells the story of not only the chef but of the restaurant in question. I genuinely hope you reach 500K subs as you and your team deserve it! Keep it coming, we will be here to watch and appreciate. Cheers.

Went before the renovation but it looks even better now! Really liked how they didn't feel the need to be overly complex for the sake of it and it seems they've kept that methodology. Good ingredients cooked perfectly without the need to show off how clever they are. The bread course is still one of my favourites anywhere. Should go back one day...

Great review, went back in Jan with the missus. - few dishes in vid are same as our experience i.e. the amuse, pasta and duck. I would recommend those not looking to drink alcohol to consider the non-alcoholic pairing, was very interesting and fun. There was also a truffle supplement which was added to the pasta and an additional dessert using said truffle. The decor behind the seats also shows off some of chefs character.

I think the small errors that Alex pointed out could be what are holding them back from 3 stars. It's an interesting comparison for him to say it's his favourite kitchen in London since he's been to Helene darroze and their wine cellar as well. I can see great innovation in their execution of dishes. I think it goes to show that just because a place has 3 stars it doesn't necessarily mean it's someone's favourite or the best in their opinion. It definitely hints at the subjectivity of taste and then so from Michelin. Like take for example la liste or world's best 50 etc
@t23c5614 күн бұрын
Yeah could be true. According to Michelin they only assess purely based on the food quality, but obviously this isn't true because look at the restaurants that get 3 stars; they're almost always super posh inside.

Couple of suggestions. a) Turn down the music in the video just a bit. Overpowering B) A lot of these restaurants you visit you don't get the wine pairing. It's a big part of the experience. Would love to see you drink the wining pairings more often then bring your own or select your own.
