Right now I'm on a cut, trying to finish the week 5000 calories below maintenance in total, meaning I'd lose about 1.5 pounds a week, and surely enough I've been losing 1.5 pounds a week because I abide by the same law of thermodyamics that everyone else abides by.

You were too easy on her as always John, the reason why she has privated all those videos is she is getting lots of new subscribers asking her if she had a gastric bypass how come she hasn’t lost any weight so she has gone through and removed all evidence it ever happened to try to save face. She says she lost over 100lbs and kept it off but we have eyes, she is almost back to where she was when she went for the weight loss surgery which she stated is 400lbs. How can anyone still be even close to 400lbs only 2 years after a gastric bypass? She had surgery thinking it would solve her problems then didnt put the work in and now she’s embarrassed and that’s the end of it, I’d be embarrassed too if I were her.

Alex had her surgery at the same time I had mine so it will be 3 years on November. I was never as big as her, but I lost 100 lbs and have been maintaining at 165 for 1.5 years now (this weight works well for my height and health). It blows my mind how little work Alex put it... she was drinking sugar loaded coffees just weeks after the surgery. I was still on puree foods and she was drinking through a straw (youre not supposed to) and eating a bunch of crap. She really out-ate the surgery. Coming from someone who's on a weight loss journey, it always makes me sad when I see people do so much to lose weight, especially because they want children (another example being Amy Slaton) and then as soon as their fertility stabilizes, they start trying to get pregnant, and once they are, weight loss goes out the window. Its the whole "I lost enough weight to conceive and carry, so I'm done." mentality that sucks. We can't keep lying to ourselves that weight doesn't hold us back ESPECIALLY when it comes to playing with and raising your children. Why wouldn't you want to be in the best possible physical condition for your children? Be able to run around with them, play on a playground set with them, go on amusement park rides with them? Of course, obese parents can still be great parents, but the health and stamina consequences for your children are going to affect them, whether you notice it or not.

@@dreamerlotus exactly. I loss my dad when I was 19 (he was 50) due to complications from type 2 diabetes. Even though he spent the last 10 years of his life trying to get healthy, it wasn’t enough. Obesity and diabetes causes irreversible damage to health if left unchecked. He was the best dad I could’ve asked for, raised me to be strong, courageous, and compassionate. It absolutely crumbled me when he left so suddenly. But it was also a wake up call. I was headed down the same path. I don’t want my future children to go through what I went through. 19 is too young to bury one parent and try to keep the other parent from drowning in grief.

Start slow with small but consistent changes, for me a huge focus for both BED and PCOS recovery that also helps with weight loss is eating 3 meals a day, I set alarms and have it scheduled so I don’t fall back into not eating all day and then bingeing at night. When losing weight, you should be eating as many calories as possible while still being in a slight deficit. You need to fill up on high fiber whole foods. At least 30 g of fiber per day. She probably goes on diets instead of having a healthy overall lifestyle. Going plantbased has made me kept weight off for many years because i treat it like a lifestyle, not a diet. Weight loss should be slow, not within a few weeks or a couple months. It should take several months to a year, done sustainably.

I completely understand what you're saying. Life is a journey and what we go through in life leads to who we become. If we're going to keep it 💯, we shouldn't feel the need to delete part of the journey...a very large part of it. Maybe it was her delivery, but in that video, she kind of came across as a little "full of herself" or almost "better than". Evolving is beautiful but don't forget where you came from and all the people that have supported you along your journey.

It’s always interesting that someone wants to do a rebrand of themselves at the expense of the subject matter that got them a following in the first place. Evolution of a brand and pivoting image is totally normal, but when that inevitably comes with the loss of a core audience, she’s going to have no one to blame but herself.
@JackBlack-w2t2 ай бұрын
Weight loss isn’t hard when core issues are addressed why a person overeats and people that still struggle and fail in their journey are not addressing the real issues and using body positivity rhetoric to detach away from the real issues why being overweight isn’t good by attaching morality to the weight which makes no sense as an argument that a lot of body positivity people use to get their point across why they fail at weight loss and feel like the weight isn’t the issue the issue is how society perceives overweight and obese people. Yeah being obese and overweight is bad being over weight doesn’t make you a bad person can we speperate these two things because they are not the same thing. Alex, amber, Chantal all use social media to earn money projecting their issues on being overweight that’s the crux of their channels and why people watch. If these woman don’t want to be known for that anymore then change the content don’t make a video and say I change my mind and expect people to be ok with it and support you on whatever new venture you want to undertake. There’s nothing genuine about it just like the weight content.

You are more than your weight. You are also more than your hobbies. You are more than your clothes. You are more than your sleeping habits. You are more than any individual thing you can think of... So what? You can still talk about those things and that doesn't mean none of those things are important. For losing weight I wish it was more discussed as "losing excess fat" because that's really the issue, losing weight in general which can include muscle weight is not always just positive. I lost weight too fast so I lost too much muscle, that wasn't good. Now I'm gaining weight while weight lifting to regain muscle, and later I will do a cut to lose extra fat I don't want.

Those weight related videos that that got more views, the ones that are so “mind boggling” to her, performed that way because of the titles! She knows they do better, that’s why she titles them the way she does. I unsubscribed from her a couple years ago.

I'd have more respect for her if she went ahead and set those videos to private, came on here and said, "Y'all, I'm revamping my channel in an effort to put more focus on raising my family and how I have adjusted my life as a result." Because truthfully, it's her channel. Who the heck cares what she does with it? Doing it this way is like she is manipulating her audience to comment with things like, nooooo, we love all your videos, keep theeeeemmmm. I could be biased because I genuinely feel like she is insincere, off, and condescending too, like you said. (She is also using her baby for views like a new holiday living room decoration, but I digress.) Thanks for the video!

I've been on a fitness/wellness/weight loss/health journey for 30 months - the longest I've ever been consistently working toward my goal. I imagine she is tired of talking about it, tired of the discussions and judgements, tired of thinking about it herself, and tired of having what she shared previously brought back up. I don't really want to talk about my unsuccessful attempts at all, and really don't want to share much about my current journey, and I'm not public on social media. I never could stand an actor who badmouthed a film they worked on, even if the film tanked, but it's so much worse when they do that about their career-maker role. They always sound insulting to their fans, like, "how could you watch that drivel?" Very ungrateful and self centered - only seeing the world through how it affects them, not what it gave to others. Becoming a mother puts you in a very fragile (like a bomb, not a flower lol) state, so it makes sense that she is having this crisis now. My opinion is maybe she should give up social media entirely and just enjoy her life, or at least start a new channel with her new focus, and just let the other one be - ignore notifications of comments on it, etc. - only post there again if she wants to open that can of worms.

I think she’s just tired of ppl using her past, weight , relationships, etc as weapon against her. Ppl love to your past words and actions and throw it in your face when you walk or stumble off your current path. It gets old and she’s done with it. That’s the message I got from that. Ppl need to realize ppls attitudes, opinions, stance change throughout life and that’s all apart of growing up. We should all take a lesson in that.

Surgery and ozempic arnt easy fixes and I hate that she wants to throw away her whole community why not start a separate channel that’s about everything she likes keeps her weight channel then she would have two streams of income and two different fan bases.

Anything is possible & no one knows her actual journey unless they know her personally. That said, imho/experience, frankly IDK how she claims to have had "gastric bypass" specifically & a) didn't lose the weight, quickly & ESP at first + b) how on Earth she eats the way she does. She ate so much/so many of the wrong things right from the start. RIGHT after surgery at holidays. I watched, blown away. HOW?? Never on video do you hear her experiencing or speaking about dumping syndrome or not feeling well... esp when out/about/on vacation, etc. w/ her mom at fairs, fests... where she indulges in soft breads, pasta, rice, burger buns, high sugar foods, etc. Idk, maybe she didn't have a full Roux-en-Y? Maybe she had a different, newer procedure due to her claiming to have had a lap band earlier on in life? Maybe she had a mini-bypass or duodenal switch or vsg/sleeve? 21 yrs later & I still cannot eat a lot. Still cannot eat soft breads, pasta, rice, potato & have to take smaller bites, eat slowly. If I ate a deep fried oreo at a fair, cotton candy, a hot dog (on a bun) or the pasta dishes she does... I'd be on the FLOOR, sick as a dog.
@SineadybabyBL2 ай бұрын
I had a mini bypass. It is NOT a partial surgery it is a different surgery to RNY-it has a better and higher success rate when it comes to weightloss and you still get dumping syndrome etc. A duodineal swith again is not a lesser syrgery to RNY but a different one and is very rarely the recommended wls-its usually performed as revision surgery when rny or mgb fails to result in WL.

Alex reached her goal to have her baby, though I think she wants children so if she can't get pregnant, I'm sure she will revisit losing weight again. I think Alex is saying she wants to change her channel to be about motherhood and family without saying it. If she says it many may decide to stop watching her. It's her bread and butter but that's her choice. There are many successful family oriented channels on KZbin. I think Alex has matured a bit. As you get older, you compare yourself to others less (assuming you start liking yourself more and realizing that your body is God's temple and you need to care for it and not by surgeries. Food is Medicine). Alex's style of clothing has changed. She's not wearing super tight leggings like the teens and cropped tops to accentuate the bad parts. She's still doing the makeup stuff which I have very little interest in. I like that her husband is Dominican (mother was Dominucan) and I'll continue watching her channel to see how she & Yarmayn raise their children multiculturally
