I like how yours at home is tiered. I may have to do something like this, instead of birds I'm gonna do butterflies to fit our decor better ❤️🦋

Yeah, at my last job I was connected over 100 hours per week and all of my energy went into just surviving basically. I sort of forgot who I was. Channels like this one and the Sorry Girls helped remind me how important it is to allow for creativity in my life. So yeah, not the same experience as you but I definitely feel the positive impacts of this Chanel :)

This is cute!! For anyone wanting to remake I would make sure all your zip ties and your wires are facing the inside so when you cut it any sharp edges are on the inside. Another idea is embroidery hoops😁

I really like this lamp and I will be on the hunt for an Ikea light. I'm going to play with some monocramatic silver or gold look. I bought a DIY house in Sterling, Il for 32 grand. A 3 bedroom 2 bath full basement. A 2 car, and single car garage, as well as a storage shed torally fenced in. House was so dirty that i had to scrap grease from cupboards then spray with dirtex cleaner. Amazing job. I am finishing my house in white walls, siver fandeliers, glass accent, silver curtains, and a mix of silver, gray or white cloth pieces with wood thrown in. Its been a year of market place and curb shopping to get the look I was going for. I'm 60 so what matters is my creature comforts and what makes me smile. I have 2 styles I want for the pendant lamps. 1st to recreate the bird lamp because it mixes in with my look, then recreate a long outdoor light with hanging Christmas lights inside the chicken wire for hanging over my outdoor seating. I plan on vegging out on rainy days to watch past episodes to find other things on your channel to inspire my basement into a comfortable space. So happy with the bird lamp look.

Great video & great light fixture! I love these lights exactly as created, but also love how it inspires variations (like the butterflies instead of birds? Who thinks of these things??) What about different colors of birds - eg; mostly white or black, w/punches of metallics or velvet jewel tones....? And you could paint the twigs - - oooh, ooh - glossy red twigs?? So inspiring & pretty!

I’ve made 2 lampshades for dining room. However I don’t like the brightness of the naked light bulbs (filament LED). Which light bulb do you use?
@rtd17913 жыл бұрын
There are some supplies on Etsy that are absurdly expensive. Lamp parts and acrylic candles come to mind. But lamp and shade parts are not expensive if you know where to buy them. I usually buy from lampshop.com. Their site is admittedly old fashioned but the prices are great. A 24 inch diameter washer top frame is 8.71$ US. (Alexandra used a washer top frame in this video) The same size bottom ring is 3.16$. So yes you can thrift, but then you’ll be relying on the luck of the draw and you’ll have to tear apart a shade. Just buy parts from a lamp parts supplier. Also the “chicken wire” she used is actually hardware cloth, I know weird name. In the US all the big home centers like Lowe’s and Home Depot carry it in different sizes and lengths. If you ask for chicken wire you might actually get the hexagonal stuff. Hardware cloth is great for DIY wire baskets too.
