Ce Concerto no2 de Saint- Saenz Nest une sorte d’Himalaya du piano …et Alexandre Kantorow nous l’offre avec toute sa fougue .. son génie .. sa légendaire humilité.. peut-être aussi est- ce un peu le fruit .. en amont …d’un travail titanesque et acharné .. avec une rarissime détermination.. et parfois avec un zeste de violente colère salvatrice❤ Et donc pour tout cela Alexandre Kantorow de tout mo coeur 🙏🏽

I heard Kantarow play this at the Royal Festival Hall, London, last year, and was bowled over by his mature, intelligent interpretation, and remarkable technique. He got a thunderous applause, as you can imagine. Certainly a pianist to watch! Bravo!

I thought the same thing. Some of the higher notes have a clear "pang!" And I like how Kantorow isn't like Michelangeli, who'd simply have refused to play. "All I have is a bad piano? I'll find a way to make do with it."

Nouveau son* Avec le père et le fils, il est logique qu'un esprit nouveau souffle sur cette œuvre tellement entendue de fois auparavant et jamais comme cela ; au nom du père et du fils, Saint Saëns, merci ! Ps Je me demande ce qu'en penserais Grigori Sokolov, qui l'a interprété tellement magistralement avant ses 17 ans (en 1967) * je ne parle pas du manque de justesse du piano

Gros problème de tempo dans le premier mouvement, si lent que les cordes tombent en pièces. De l’afféterie dans les mouvements de bras, pour un résultat sans vraie force. Le piano est une casserole. On a connu le jeune Kantorow meilleur. Peu d’émotion pour ma part.
