If I hadn't heard Alexander Kantorow in person to my great luck a couple of weeks ago I wouldn't have believed such perfectionism both musically and technically is possible at all. just UNBELIEVABLE! Listen to it and don't believe your eyes and ears. Thanks Alexander, no words....

I heard Kantarow play this at the Royal Festival Hall, London, last year, and was bowled over by his mature, intelligent interpretation, and remarkable technique. He got a thunderous applause, as you can imagine. Certainly a pianist to watch! Bravo!

on ne peut pas dire d'une telle interprétation (collective !) "c'est très bien", "magnifique", "superbe". on peut dire "je suis dedans", "je suis pris avec", "je ne peux pas en sortir", "s'il vous plaît, répétez, répétez encore..."

I thought the same thing. Some of the higher notes have a clear "pang!" And I like how Kantorow isn't like Michelangeli, who'd simply have refused to play. "All I have is a bad piano? I'll find a way to make do with it."

The Finlandia Hall stuff and others Said no-one.plays that Steinway! I would be upset about that piano. It sounds as badly out of tune as some upright pianos. It's especially bad an octave above middle C.

Gros problème de tempo dans le premier mouvement, si lent que les cordes tombent en pièces. De l’afféterie dans les mouvements de bras, pour un résultat sans vraie force. Le piano est une casserole. On a connu le jeune Kantorow meilleur. Peu d’émotion pour ma part.
