This is very engaging music. Tansman deserves greater recognition than he currently enjoys.

Tansman gets greater recognition → some composer(s) gets lesser recognition.

Typically invigorating in his more athletic moments, thoughtful and distinctive in his slow movements, Tansman gives us here music imbued with his unique brand of Gallic charm. The more I hear of his music, the more I tend to think of him as "The French Prokofiev". The final fugue however, if written by the latter, would likely have been less severe and graceless, two attributes that Tansman showed at times.

You mean "The Polish Prokofiev" ;)

@@maciejkotarba7365 emm, if Tansman is Polish Prokofiev then, I guess, the rest of polish composers

Refreshing and modern and fun to listen to. Why do so many insist on invidious comparisons? Prokoviev? Gallic?

As always, Thank you very much. The works by various composers including Ginastera, B.A.Zimmermann you posted broadened my mind, so I could develop in many ways. May your channel be widely known.

5:51 sounds like ending of Bartok's fifth quartet.

Bartok is much more ascerbic and humourless.

@kmrerk Idk, I just meant melody, Bartok's use of this theme is more humorous
