Very cool choke. Works everywhere people wear gis or heavy clothing around the neck...but not in the octagon.

why is the other guy keeps holding onto the attacking guy's legs instead of using both hands to throw off the one hand holding onto the lapel?

What a cerebral move. A trap that looks like you're gonna get to pass guard. And if it was used in a real combat scenario, you can dump the opponent on their head/neck afterwards. Bravo
@erikmmccray5 жыл бұрын
So, other then the "rules" what is keeping the guy getting choked from just sprawing out into a neck cranking to break the hold? Not being sarcastic I am new to Bjj but not grappling and I am not seeing this as a good option unless you were quick enuff to push him back on their butt or strong enuff to just lift him like a firemens carry.
@alejandroc73574 жыл бұрын
I'm sure there is a another submission that you can transition to.
@guest00462 жыл бұрын
As a blackbelt, Im wondering the same thing. I think even if he sprawls he will be choked out, but, seems like I will injure my neck in the procsess
@mitchellgaffney3595 Жыл бұрын
I think you can use that grip to control the chin, which would prevent your opponent from sprawling. I'll have to try it and test it out. Ossss

You get choked out by the gi(unifrom) choking you like a rope, instead of using your hands or arms...note how he grabs the gi, twists it hard enough to control the opponent, rolls to anchor and leverage.

What if he chooses to pass the other way its no good now right
@ed7816 жыл бұрын
Jenna Loza when you have the persons head controlled like that, the only way to pass the guard is to go to the opposite side. Its similar to defending the guillotine, 99.9% of people will defend by going to the opposite side of the choke. What makes this loop choke work is because you have a cross collar grip and when they defend by passing the guard, the lapel tightens up causing the choke.
@herculesrockefeller45846 жыл бұрын
You basically have a guillotine. If they go the other way block them with your leg.
