This song got me through some hard times in my life. I'm literally in tears as I write this. Sometimes I drive around in my car and sing this until I feel better. Helped me through a divorce years ago. That's what I love about this channel. You seem to understand the cathartic nature of music.

LMAO, us metalheads will argue genre the way naturalists argue genus and species. Question: Is hardcore a sub genre of metal or is it between metal and punk. Also where does pro-pain fall in that?

I love Hatebreed and how they kept things simple with their music, the lyrics are easy to understand for everybody, no subtle messages, straight to your face, just like the music that comes with it ! By the way, I've been to many many concerts and I've never seen a crowd get hyped as much as in an Hatebreed show !

My last hardcore show I saw was $5 in 2005 at the Living Room in Providence. Scarlett, Black Dahlia Murder, As I Lay Dying, and Everytime I Die was headlining. Show was nuts. Kids were climbing the support pillars, shimmying across the beams, and dropping on the crowd. There were only like 12 feet from the floor, but it was still awesome.

@@jasonhook3884 Bands can call their band whatever genre they want. What they sound like is a totally different matter. There are two different genres of "metalcore". Metallic Hardcore like Earth Crisis or Bellako, and melodic metalcore like As I Lay Dying or Killswitch Engage. Hatebreed isn't really that metal influenced though.

"Hardcore" lmao. Hardcore is a subgenre of punk. Bands like Minor Threat, Black Flag, Bad Brains, Drive Like Jehu, Rites Of Spring, Moss Icon, THOSE are hardcore bands. Metalcore is a blanket term for any band that combines hardcore with an extreme genre of metal. Saying Hatebreed is hardcore is like saying Godsmack is nu metal.

Hatebreed is purely motivational. Something I actually overlooked when I was younger (as hardcore/metalcore were not genres I looked into until I heard As I Lay Dying) and when I found them out again and actually listened, they quickly became a favorite of mine. Never bad to have a positive message, even behind the aggression.

I always liked Hatebreed when I was younger! I used to jam them for different things and there live show is one of the most brutal I been to. But if I remember right they had a couple other songs besides this one that stick out in my head and there maybe more. The true hatebreed fans can let you know but " Destroy Everything " and " In Ashes They Shall Reap " were great songs as well.

Hatebreed has been apart of the seen for over 20 yrs. They are definitely not metalcore, but are loved by metalheads of all kinds. A lot of their songs are about rising over your oppositions and taking control of your life. Also a lot of their song talk about fighting back at society and taking revenge of those who hurt you. I love this band and have followed them from their first album. Seen them live many times. One of my favorite songs is Beholder of Justice. Plz react to that one if you double dip.

At the first and last Tattoo the Earth festival (2001or maybe 2002 I think) my friends and I somehow convinced a roadie for Hatebreed too let us backstage. We ended up meeting several members of Slipknot, we met Mudvayne and Slayer (you'd think that guys in a band as huge as Slayer might be a bunch of stuck up jerks but they were all the coolest nicest dudes ever). It was fucking awesome. I was in heaven and the best part was we weren't even supposed to be back there. Just three 19 year old guys hanging out and drinking beers with the bands we loved. Thanks for this video, Alex. When I'm sitting around feeling mopey about not having crazy cool experiences in my life this video reminded me that I've seen some pretty awesome shit.

Yes! He needs to, I've been trying to get him to react to it for months now, hopefully now that you and a few others are also asking he can finally do it, Fleshgod Apocalypse is my 3rd favorite band so I want everyone to hear them.

Atreyu1107 VG I’m suggesting this one because of the dynamic between the operatic vocals and the death growls. He seems to enjoy that. Mafia is too intense for an introduction to the band. If I were to suggest my absolute favorite, it would have to be Under Black Sails

YES!!!! Hatebreed's lyrics are super-positive, all about being strong, believing in yourself, overcoming obstacles, accepting that we are all human & make mistakes & learning from them. They have a song called "Destroy Everything" which SOUNDS negative just by the title, but in fact is talking about getting rid of all those negative influences in our life that keep us from progressing as human beings, going beyond what we have become to be something better(and NOT in some racist/nationalistic way, as some might try to misinterpret).
