My husband (who is also Alex) hates scary movies and I love them, especially The Conjuring. It was the first movie in a while that actually scared me so of course I made him watch it. I knew the clap scene was coming up and he was completely into the movie by that point. I clapped when they did (right in his ear) and he literally fell to the ground in fetal position! I felt horrible but secretly one of the funniest things I've ever seen 😂

the conjuring films are AMAZING. IMO there three kinds of horror films: Slasher: this involves a psycho killer or murderer of some kind (examples: Friday the 13th, Halloween, Child's Play) Demonology: these are more about inhuman things and can often be more complex, especially the good ones (examples: The Conjuring, Insidious, Sinister) Psychological: these are the horrors that really mess with your head, the japanese are quite good at these, but there are some from other countries too (The Grudge, The Shining, Rosemary's Baby)

@@blazejecar The actual house is the Perrin Farm, and it really is haunted. There's enough proof of that, the owners just sold it after only 3 years, they had enough of it. Check out Sam&Colby for instance, paranormal investigators who went there twice. And, the Perrin family liked the movie, because it was mostly accurate, but they state (in their book they wrote about it) the movie was downplayed, because the actual events were alot worse.

Fun fact...the actual doll was a Raggedy Anne doll which is not scary looking at all. The one in this film was created for the movie it just looks like it can steal your soul with a glimpse. Everyone has their "hell no" thing that some people enjoy. Cave crawling through small places is mine, but many people love spelunking. During horror movies, I pull myself out by thinking of the cameras and crew or sfx involved in the making. That being said, your squirming and screams make for a great reaction, bro. I watched this movie in the theatre when it came out and ended up leaving with multiple bite marks on my hand (which was my then gf's response to being terrified). I had a blast though despite the wounds. It's definitely one of my all time favorite horror flicks.

I dare you to watch The Haunting of Hill House. It's an incredibly well-written show that uses horror to explore grief and mental illness, and it has probably one of the most chilling and shocking twists in the genre. It's also got some pretty cool scares, but focuses more on anticipation and build. There's also a hidden ghost in most of the shots.

lmao dude I have not had such a good laugh in a while. This is one of the scariest demon movies out there for sure. The 2nd one is quite good too. Like this one it is full of good scares but there is one particular scene that you will stay awake over. I love the clap game and the two girls in the room part. The rest is a lot more toned down on the scares. James Wan is so good.

Yes, this is based on a 100% true story. The original Annebell doll was a Raggedy Anne doll, and the son of ed and lorriane warren, runs the museum that is connected to the house they lived in, in Connecticut. It can still be visited to this day. Eds office is still full of file cabinets, recordings(audio and video), photographs ect from all the investigations they did through out the years. They would have priests come with holy water and reseal everything in there. You could get a comfy blanket to hold on to, it helps

This is honestly one of my favorite horror movies over the past 10 years or so. The suspense is done really well, and the acting is solid. The jump scares will always be polarizing, but I think they're great in this one.
