air is needed to produce sound? Im ... not entirely convinced thats the case, ive taught musical acoustics for years, and went to grad school for astrophsyics. You just need a medium for sound to travel in. Sure can't do it in space, but some of the loudest sounds are made under water by whales. I guess you could make an argument that those sounds need air for lungs, but fish can produce sound via other parts called stridulation. Perhaps the argument is that a baby crying would need lungs with air, but ... I'm gonna push back in saying that its a bit more complicated than just needing air to create sounds. Sorry I know im that guy, I just went to school for like 12 fucking years for this shit, so I find it compulsory to explain.

@@evenglare You're right about fish not needing air to make sound, but they make sound with something other than vocal cords. Human vocal cords need air to produce sound. 13:18 No, the baby cannot cry inside the mother. The child has the capacity to do so, however, never will because it cannot yet breathe. It is still attached to the umbilical cord in the womb, and thus doesn't need to use their lungs yet to get oxygen. The heart is beating, circulating the oxygen in the blood, but the source is not yet the lungs. Sound is generated almost entirely by the movement of air past the vocal cords, and that's also why people who are choking on broccoli or whatnot can't shout "help I'm choking", because if you can't breathe, you can't speak. Honestly, very good and interesting question.

It's interesting you say it's a very family oriented movie because i've John say how he made it for his kids. It's like a love letter and promise of a father's love for his kids. It's soo good 😭

Part 2 is a must watch. Starts with some flash back to day 0. And I agree with watching Edge of Tomorrow.

The high pitch sound for the weakness made me think of Venom

There cannot be fire without oxygen,Alex 😅

He was right though pure oxygen is insanely light-able that’s why people with oxygen tanks can’t have a lighter any where near them because if a little fire goes in the whole thing can explode

@@reganborrellifaithinthefut3251Right and wrong; oxygen itself isn't flammable at all, but it helps everything that IS burn way, way more easily, so you basically treat it the same way as if it were.

Such a great reaction. I loved how you screamed so loud at the breaking lantern from the start. I love how they built that up to be something scary because it's the first loud sound you hear after the space shuttle. The pervasive silence just amplifies our reactions to any sound. Hope you watch the sequel some day. And definitely watch Edge of Tomorrow as others have suggested. Great film. Btw, I also watched Adjustment Bureau a lot for some reason. 😆

I am totally enjoying myself. This is the best review with the greatest jump scares I’ve seen so far. Don’t forget to watch Quiet Place 2 it does have a short spot in the beginning of the movie that explains how all this got started.

John Krasinski is phenomenal both as an actor and director and this film was completely original with story and concept and blending horror with tragedy. It’s a masterpiece

Can’t wait for the prequel, and with the guy who played Eddie in stranger things in it there be a scene where he plays music to draw them away 😂

The old man was trying to get all 3 killed. Red means, she is having the child. And the thing you think is the eyes is it's ears, earlier it said they were blind.
