Thank you Beverley for being so honest and open - it's uncanny but I can relate to almost everything you said as I had a very similar childhood and relationship with my mother. I also feel I've always had a broken heart and have been withdrawn and unable to express or feel my feelings because of this. I understand that my mother was suffering too from an abusive childhood but it doesn't make it any easier to be my true self.

It's difficult to listen due to the uncomfortable familiarity in her story. Thank you for her honesty in sharing her video, which can resonate and help others with similar childhoods and adult issues.

This set of therapy sessions is so resonating with me. Obviously, some of Beverley's content is different from mine but many of the issues she is discovering and talking about apply to me. I am even older than Beverley and have spent many years exploring my earlier life and trying to make sense of it and who I am and I had also given up on therapy and spirit but a chronic illness has pulled me back into it. I look forward to watching more sessions and seeing how this plays out.

I think this lifelong sadness can be a result of two lonely depressed people having an only child. Its really not fair on the child. The parents having come from such large families should have known better, but sounds as though they were the invisible and forgotten children of their own families.
