The snow melted and spring came quickly, an incredible difference from the previous video. It was nice to follow your shelter building, as well as, of course, Grizz’s woods. Absolutely a hilarious personality. That Shelter is very reminiscent of the Shelter we did a long, long time ago in the woods with my friends. It was also against the rock in the same way and next to it was a small creek and swamp. The wall on the side of the doorway was made of wood. The roof and walls were made of dried wood trunks and covered with twigs, as well as completely covered with moss. Finally, we still disguise it to blend in perfectly with the environment. It took almost ten years to stand up until we went to dismantle it ourselves because it was originally done without permission. While waiting for the new video, stay healthy and all the best to you there.

Yo, Another wonderful day with the outdoors, plus you and Griz. When I was a young girl we use to play and build forts in the woods around our home. Forts consisted of fallen pine tress and lots of pine straw. We would use our pocket knives for anything that needed a sharp edge. Fishing was just down the road, a cane pole, some worms and a few brim ended up on our string to take home for mother to cook for the trail blazers. Our trusty collies to protect us and not a care in the world. I wish I could return to those days. Thank you Alexis for always remembering us at home and packing us in your rut sack to take along. Take Care and Stay Safe, God Bless

Just started watching bushcraft videos on KZbin as a coping method to deal with stay in place orders after spread of virus to New Jersey because I'm not able to camp myself now, although camping has been a huge part of my life since 1979. So good to see you and Grizz out and about. I had a reservation at my local National Forest that I enjoy bushcrafting in. Have an annual permit to go where the civilians cannot. I got email yesterday that my reservation was cancelled due to Corona. Worse, my permit was suspended until further notice. Forest Service here in Florida assured me they would let me know when the suspension was removed, and gave me a full refund on the reservation. But still. I HAVE to get away from the craziness here in the city. The woods regenerate me, as I am sure they do you and Grizz. We enjoy your vids. Stay Safe!!

I think these are skills we all need to know. So many people would panic if they had to live rustic. When I was 15 we lived in North Georgia. Rustic property everywhere. 4 or 5 of us would go camping and we’d make a fire and just sleep on the ground. Sometimes we’d bring Hotdogs and buns. We were just kids having fun.

The more animal based foods a human eats, the less frequently we also need to eat and give our guts a rest just like dogs and other carnivores as ancestrally we were carnivorous most of the year as well! Its only recently that we eat so many carbohydrates year round that we experience energy highs and crashes requiring food sooner than later, fat as an energy source keeps us going much longer. Epic video as usual!

Also, as you mentioned, I am very happy to hear you try to refrain using plastic. that's great. I highly recommend to also refrain from using Aluminum whereever you can. In contact with food at least. Instead try using steel, cast-iron pan etc. There's informative video's about how Aluminum can effect the brain. It's impossible for our system to break it down and collects in our cells, most concerningly our brain. It's found to increase the chance of dementia and our medical institues have called out since years that the sell of aluminum materials in connection with kitchen ware is highly concerning as the levels of aluminum in the population has steadily increased. We are able to handle a certain amount in our lifetime, but it's much exceeded that value because of these usages. So, I recommend: No aluminum cookingware, don't use aluminum foil AT ALL. there other alternatives instead that are totally healthy :)
@careenaalexis
@careenaalexis 4 жыл бұрын
I never cook with aluminum either, I have Alzheimer’s in my family already so I refrain from cooking with aluminum. As far as I know there’s no issues with aluminum storage tho, as long as you’re not cooking with it.

I watch channels like yours and My Nature Reliance and see how your dogs live (eat). What's struck me is how they DO NOT sit around begging to eat the minute food is pulled out. It's because "they don't eat like humans".... unless they're taught to :) Nice job. Another beautiful vid.

Very nice shelter. Now for the sleep over maybe two nights. Grizz has some obeying manners, and still only a "puppy" 🤠
