Awesome day on the lake. I carry an Altoids tin with about 50 feet of 3lb test, some sinkers, hooks and a couple of small floats. A fishing license is kept in a plastic credit card sleeve glued into the top of the Altoids tin. It's one tin of several survival tins which contain tinder, small ferro rods, char cloth, Bic lighters, votive candles, etc. These tins are stored in a small possibles pouch or ditty bag. A rod can be improvised using a slender tree branch or sapling. On a recent outing I caught some trout for dinner. That's because I left my food pouch on the door step at home.

Idea, keep a travel rod and reel, small tackle box or bag in your truck all the times. Couple questions about the canoe, weight limit, brand, and how stable is it. Love to live up there, I'd carry an arsenal of fishing gear in my truck. Thanks, that was so cool you had the lake to yourself, the landscape is so beautiful.

Love your video’s. Especially because you and your husband are ethical, leave no trace, and enjoy the outdoors. Grizz as well. He is quite the dog. ❤️. I had a kayak then my son introduced me to a canoe. I was 69 and bought one on the way home from our trip on the Adirondacks. I love it and go as much as I can paddling and fishing. I love it when Griz gets the zoomies, you know he's a happy dog when that happens. When i was just a little kid we were at a hunting cabin in Potter County Pa when after a 45 min trip to the stream a family friend (one of my dad's friends) just about to the stream starts laughing out loud saying "you guys aren't going to believe what i forgot", my fishing rod. So Careena, you aren't the only one. This video reminded me of that trip back in the late 1960's. Thanks for sharing!!
