@@kayleighkingdom7426 As someone who used to watch them, it's a bit hard to pinpoint when a true crime youtuber/video is problematic, but if you really think about it, isn't it weird that some of them tell a story in a entertaining way, like a ghost story, while often also doing make-up or eating? I don't think all true crime KZbinrs are bad, but there are quite a bit that make it seem like entertainment and fun and like it's just a casual normal thing. And also, there is this question as to why we watch it. Because it's interesting? But doesn't interesting mean we find it entertaining? And isn't it weird that we find true crime entertaining when it shouldn't be because it's TRUE crime? I don't know my complete thoughts on this yet honestly, on when it's problematic and when it's not (both as youtuber and watcher/listener). Ps: sorry if my English is bad

I don’t think people should be making videos especially about victims whose families are still alive let alone open cases. I LOVE videos that don’t hurt anyone but I’ve had people ask if they could make videos on my dead family members and it’s disrespectful even if I like the genre. Like you can’t get the consent of all their living family but you owe it to them to do so - meaning the best conclusion is to consider who would be hurt by your telling the story. If it’s 3 great granddaughters who never met the woman it’s probably fine, but like don’t talk abt my mom I’m still here and it would so effed up for someone to find information even I don’t know bout

What??? This show pulled little from what was already written in the Archie comics. The Core 4 were all very different from the comics. Dark, self-harming Betty, all the supernatural stuff, time travel, superpowers, almost everyone is bi or gay/lesbian, the inappropriate oversexualization of people who are supposed to be in high school, etc. None of that is in the source material. @@bettyspot

I don't get why some people hate teenagers going out trick or treating. I'd rather my kids going and getting free candy in a safe neighbourhood with friends surrounded by other families than at some house party or gang hangout where there's the potential for illegal substances, criminal activities, and underage drinking. The trajectory of this show seems to be insane. It was a drama mystery show that had a great concept and a good season time, which then became a decent mystery story that was spread out too long. Then it dipped its toes into the semi supernatural only dive headfirst into a concrete pool floor the next season. And 2 seasons later it somehow became a quirky cartoony show while also being the product of supernatural stuff but they don’t actually make attempts to come to any close of the plot

It’s fun to shit on this show because it deserves it so often, but can we just appreciate the audacity of the writers to completely drop all endgames (except choni) in favor of polyamory and self discovery? I don’t personally feel like it’s a filler season nor rehashing old storylines in the exact same way because they’re actually fixing a lot of their fuckups. Ms Grundy rejects Archie’s advances, Kevin’s mom supports him, Ethel actually gets a storyline, Cheryl learns humility to keep a better relationship, Toni doesn’t lose herself while being with Cheryl, Betty defines herself without a man, Veronica cuts off her father much sooner than before, and jughead gets to be the comic reading burger munching mostly-asexual character he was sposed to be. My favorite change is Archie realizing his life isn’t about choosing between Betty or Veronica but his own hopes and dreams for himself. The growth demonstrated in this season is a plot in itself.

Couple of thoughts: 1. The same thing happened with The Flash Final Season. They tried to do so many things and ithe ending itself was meh. 2. As for the message blaming the comics that was a real thing back in those days.

I remember getting into Riverdale at the start of season 2, almost made it my whole personality (even owning multiple jughead beanies) ironically the bad writing inspired me to become a writer, so seeing it end after this long. I’m now in my senior year and I remember this show around my 7-8th grade in middle school, the show lasting this long is astonishing for how wild it can get.

Gotta love how one of the cliffhangers in the Halloween episode was "Oh my god, Archie, Reggie and some of the Bulldogs drove off the bridge!"; and the next episode was like "Oh wait, they're fine." Classic Riverdale
