I am glad you decided to cover this. This is actually one of my favorite DCOMs because it really goes hard on the emotions in a very realistic way for a movie about wizards. I really love the heartwarming scene that Alex and Justin have around the campfire. And I thought it was fitting that Alex won the competition but then didn't know the spell she needed. This movie does cause inconsistencies with the plot later in the series. I think in season 4 they mention how their magic combined is stronger so they might just have needed to group together to reverse the spell. Additionally the wizard competition is so different in the show's finale than the movie and there isn't an explanation for that.

The movie family wizard competetion wasn't Harry Potter-ish, but the real competetion in the show was literally straight out of Harry Potter, just with tiny changes. In Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire, they had a dragon as the first test, so Wizards had a griffin, and then in HP, they had to save their friends underwater. In Wizards they had to save their friends from the Griffin, and then they had a maze in both. Just with the Wizards being way less intense and no one dying of course.

Video suggestions: Starstruck, How to Build a Better Boy, Secrets of Sulfur Springs. Also, I love your videos, they’re hilarious.

How to Build a Better Boy was a very weird one. Like girl had to build a boyfriend to prove she wasn't lying, when in reality, any guy would date her. Kelli is beautiful.

@ Yeah, that show was weird, but I agree, she is pretty.

I always loved how Disney movies looked different in quality compared to their shows.

Speaking about your last commentary, Selena was always torn between music and acting cause one gave her closer interactions with her fans while she always loved acting as her mom was also an actress (when she was younger). Now that she is older and after learning and dealing with lupus since 2016-17, she is again closer to acting and she is happy with it.

6:25 couldn't Javier just be taking a summer job? If 16yo can flip burgers, they can woo Selina AND hop bells at a hotel

i just can't... what are these messages in these movies suppose to teach? every time: kid is as wrong as possible, while claiming they never do wrong. then does something extra wrong that leads to some sort of disaster. and at the end without actually becoming a better person still saves the day with one single action, and is suddenly in the right... and in the next movie/series/scene is back to being wrong as usual.

Honestly was a great movie because it forced them into the wizard test, like it was a valid reason for pushing it up, unfortunately didnt stick

When I was younger, Wizards of Waverly Place was my favourite show and I really used to admire Alex, I couldn't decide if I wanted to be like her or be her bff, but I used to always daydream about the two of us...wait...maybe I was crushing on her ...🤨🤔
