Great build, only a couple of small issues: the Lockheed C2 ejection seat used on this aircraft does not feature overhead ejection handles, those are typical of Martin Baker IQ-7 and GQ-7 seats, used on more recent Starfighters. Also, the canopy opening handle on the right side should have been aligned with the panel line (this one is totally useless as on the real aircraft the handle is flush with the fuselage and looks like it's just painted on)

Nice Alex , i live out in Germany and ordinally from the UK . I work on AC my self and did modeling when i was younger looking to get back into it now . i watch your channel to see your painting skills. > this AC was stationed up the road here at Hahn airport and were housed in nuclear proof bunkers , there still at Hahn plus a engine run bays all disused now as the base was decommissioned the end of 80s.

Alex, I must say, this is one of the most excellent builds I have seen you do! Of course, I have not seen everything you have built, but you just knocked it out of the park in all area's with this beautiful F-104! I was excited to see you posted the full build on this bird and clicked on it right away. Glad I did brother. That looks like a beautiful kit, loved the photo etch cockpit, amazing! All the best to you and your family, God Bless!

Hi, Alex.!!! Long time, no see.!!! Beautiful machine, the "Starfighter". Never got tired of it. Only 3 sujestions, if I may: 1)- On the starboard side, the vertical yellow bar of the rescue handle, should be superimposed on the etched handle in the fuselage, a little more towards the front. 2)- The color of the navigation lights are reversed. (Like in politics, the red is on the left). 3)- The starboard (right hand side) leading edge flap, (slat), is slightly angled up, what it's impossible in the real thing.!! And a last remark, (but it's only me), the anti glare, olive drab panel, is a little smudged above the starboard "Rescue" panel.!! Besides those little pormenors, let me congratulate you for such a great modeling.!!! Cheers.!!!

Overall a very nice build , a little heavy on the wash maybe. The RNoAF F-104's was kept in prestine condition and washed on a regular basis so they where very clean. On a technical note, The Lockheed C2 seat does not have a ejection handle on the top of the seat. and also RNoAF F-104G's did not have the radar warning receivers installed. Only our CF-104's had these . CF-104's had an allover Green color on the top and a light gray/metallic light gray on the lower fuselage. Your model depics FN-K/61-2625/CN 4025, originally a RF-104G was deliverd to 331'st sqd at Bodø AB on Oct 26 1963, It had just over 19 flying hours at time of delivery and as so was brand new. The jet was lost on sep 18th 1974 , the pilot ejected,however he was to low to seperate from the seat and was killed on impact. Flying time of the jet at the time of the accident was 1878:10 hrs.
@AlexModeling8 жыл бұрын
the fact that i placed that pilot was a homage to him... im nt a figure paintet and i did check the history of this jet... pictures only in black and white and i didn t dirty it very much! the pilot is waving because when i read about its death i thought "i wish he could had 3 or 4 more seconds to eject"... thanks dor yoir coment.. very much

A question... once you do the panel line pin wash, do you wait until it has dried to wipe away the excess, or do you do while it is wet, or partly dry? Thanks. I can't seem to get my pinwashes to stay on when I wipe them (I wipe when they are dry).
@AlexModeling8 жыл бұрын
+Joe N. Hello! If you wait patiently for a day or a night you will get better results... my advice is... do the wash just before "closing the shop" that day :) and when you go to sleep or work or whatever when you return it will be dry.. and will get better into the panels:)

Im a retired Nurse Aide gone into antique and vintage watch repair. My grandson came in wanting to help but the microscopic screws are just that. You can see a tiny object but need at least a 10x powered loupe to see it. So what better way to built something than start out with a side by side build of an F-104 Starfighter by Revell! So I have one from ebay for 15 bucks the rest for almost 50. Does anyone know where to buy models for a down to earth price?
