Love the 24 Mustang GT: the design, the Magneride, the V-8 sound and power, the handling, the new interior. Well, just about everything But the Mustang has one problem and for me it's a big problem: MPGs. 14 MPG in the city means if you drive it like you want to, you'll be getting 11-12MPG in the city. That's just not good enough. Anyone can put a large displacement engine in a car and get performance. To get power and reasonable MPGs takes engineering. My BMW M240i with Xdrive AWD also gets sub 0 to 60 times and is listed to get 23 MPGs in the city. I get 20 MPGs and I drive the car hard when I can. If the mileage was better, it would be a much tougher decision. I actually test drove a Mustang before I bought my 2022 BMW M240i. And I owned 2 GTs sometime back. Bob

And with Xdrive the BMW will most likely best the Mustang off the line and to 60 because there is never any wheel spin. And the BMW is listed at getting 23 MPG in the city, the Mustang is listed at getting 16. That is a SIGNIFICANT difference. The BMW is "heavier", as fast to 60 if not faster and gets 7 MPG "more" than the Mustang GT. That takes engineering not just displacement. With options, both are priced about the same. The Mustang is great I test drove one. But the above are the reasons I selected the BMW M240i.
