IMHO Rivian R1S is the overall winner of any EV ever made. It's Boxy profile maximizes cargo capacity, headroom, visibility, and aesthetics. Clean horizontal and vertical lines are visually appealing. Ground clearance is amazing! It so roomy and a departure from all the crampt EV's with a high price tag. The Rivian R1S and the Hummer EV SUV truly are the most enviable examples of American Engineering on the road.

Wow, 135kwh is soo much battery for only 279 mi highway. Energy density is still a huge issue for EVs.

I would argue the biggest issue for EV's is charging infrastructure. -Travis

@@AAutoBuyersGuide That depends on many things like where you live, type of charger an plug, etc. But energy density makes electric cars extremely heavy. That makes them much more expensive than they should be. And that extra weight makes them less practical and less efficient. If we could have a 120kWh battery with a volume of just 80 liters, and weighing more than 300lbs that would make electric cars much more competitive with traditional ones.

The integration of so many functions into a couple buttons and a screen is not user friendly. Yesterday one of these pulled up next to me at a stop light. I checked out the panel gaps while waiting. Not good. You can't lose $33,000 per vehicle sold and stay in business forever. Unlike Tesla, I don't see this company surviving.

It seems like a stellar vehicle but they really should have the option to opt for a standard suspension b/c people who want to keep these for more than a few years are going to in a world of hurt fixing the air suspension esp if they off-road at all. That might be a deal breaker for some people this was aiming at.

The Max Pack is not likely to be 180 kWh. Other outlets are reporting around 150 kWh usable.

I was interested to get this car , but is ridiculous overpriced for what you get , this is not worth 100K . Before they increase the price it was on my list , now not anymore . I will probably go with EV9.

It's competitively priced with the X after the X's major price reduction and it has massively more to offer than the X -- hard to even compare them since the Rivian does so much more. I don't think they've announced the full EV9 prices yet -- just the entry level model with a small battery and not AWD. But in any event the EV9 has so much less range (which was a deal killer for some of us). This will get over 100 miles more on a full charge with the middle battery level and even more with the Max battery. For some of us, that alone makes it worth it.

The EV9 is nice but this is significantly faster, has 100+ miles more range, Rivian has a larger screen, better OTA updates and app (as a Telluride owner I can guarantee it)... Kia also wants to charge a separate subscription for their better driver assist. Wait until dealer markups, the cost for top trim EV9 with markup will be in the low 80k range for the next 18 months.

EV9 has no off road ability whatsoever so it’s a bit of an apples and oranges comparison
