Maybe a video on how CJ Stroud torched defenses on 3rd downs and when he was being blitzed? A rookie should not have been as accurate and as composed as he was, but his passer rating and 3rd down conversion was elite.

@@Onelove2000 The irony is Love was a Lafleur pick mostly. Lafleur was scouting Love before he even landed the Packers HC job. I forget the exact connection but something like Lafleur's old college roomate was one of Love's college coaches or something like that. Tyler Dunne talked about it in one of his articles about Love. If not for Lafleur, I doubt Love ever gets picked. That being said, Gute does deserve all the credit for pulling the trigger.

100% this. Love obviously had some struggles he had to get through too, but it was the entire offense that needed to get it together. I respect the fact that even on plays where the receivers made Jordan look dumb by running a wrong route, he never once blamed them in the media for it. (so many of his early ints weren't even on him) Just took responsibility and moved on. Such a great show of leadership and to me is one of the reasons they were able to turn it around.

@@RalphKetchumthere were receivers running wrong routes on a weekly basis until the midseason. Sometimes multiple times in a single game alongside drops. Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre all extended plays and thew off their back foot. Having been the only franchise in NFL history to have three quarterbacks back to back train each other. This style is very specific to the QB lineage of the Packers Style. I think one of Love's biggest strengths is what he and his teammates and coaches describe as being "never too high and never too low" in terms of his emotions and composure. It's what not only allows him to brush off a bad play or keep focus after hitting it big, but I'm convinced it's what allows him to throw dimes off platform even when someone like Parsons is barrelling down on him. Something clicked after halftime of the Steelers game loss for Love. Some showed against Denver but it was really after the Steelers Loss he looked like a different QB.

Part of your assessment was right. But the circumstances regarding that Packers offense in the middle of the season had several variables including that adjustment period where LaFleur the play caller was trying to get Love and the offense on the same page. Along with younger players in the receiver group. So if anything it was just a textbook progression to see it all come together late into October and to November. In the end LaFleur bet on the right things about Love's strengths.

A strong arm for a quarterback can make up for a lot of weaknesses. Like you say Jordan is really good throwing off his back foot. Now I don’t think a QB should make a living from it - it’s harder to be consistently accurate - if you don’t have a strong arm the ball will simply flutter in the wind and get picked. Obviously a strong arm makes tight-window throws more possible as well as the ball gets there quicker and the DB has less time to react. But Love is on his way it appears. I have Green Bay as a Dark Horse in the NFC this year.

The back foot throw and off balance throws seem to be a GB staple. I think they can pull off teaching QB's this because of how they acquire them. Most teams are looking for the guy who can play now. Jordan Love, by the time he took the field, was FULLY equipped to handle everything, to perform without thoughts, everything being second nature, confidence present but not a concerning forethought of projection, just free flowing action. Pretty sure I was pretty vocal on all the Love hate videos I saw at the time. It felt like everyone was conflating results with his actual production. He was always processing fast and making great decisions pre and post snap. As long as he kept doing that, it was bound to click eventually. Watching the film he both passed the eye test and didn't look confident at the time.

Last thing I need is another awesome Packers QB terrorizing the NFC. 😅 Well, you mentioned Love throwing off his back foot a lot while finding success. He's probably the best I've ever seen with that gesture too. Montana did it surprisingly well with his limited arm, and I remember Garcia doing it in games with a fair share of success. Due to Love's immense physical talent it looks more deadly. This kid scared the heck out me in the divisional round. He's going to get better. Especially once the Packers improve his surrounding cast. NOT IDEAL FOR ME. 😭😭😭

The Cowboys wildcard game was a good display of what you can get out of him with the rest of the offense in the same page. Packers passing game punished the hell out of Dan Quinn's cover 1/3 style defense with all the mismatches down the middle of the field. Now Quinn is the HC of the Commanders, Packers gonna take their lunch whenever they visit the capitol.

Great video Alex. I havent spoken since the game. They've instatutionalized me. No im just kidding. I havent spoken about the Super Bowl since it happened. That illegal blocker for the Chiefs - Lineman Downfield wasnt called. He was affecting the play as well. He was in the face of the Dbacks. I get the whole 'dont make calls that change the Super Bowl' but it was a clear foul. Had they called it woulda been a 10 second run off and the game ends and Niners win. I know sour grapes, cry cry.

One observation I've noted is that it seems each generation of Packers QB leans back farther when he throws off his back foot. At this point, whoever succeeds Jordan Love in 15 years will be ripping 50 yd bombs downfield while limboing.

Love told him he wanted to open the 2nd Lions game with the Watson deep pass. Bassicly asking him to "let me sink or swim" And thus the change I

Considering that they spent a first and a fourth round pick on him in the middle of a championship window, I'd say that he has to at least make a Super Bowl, if not win one, in order for the pick to be justified.

That's assuming that Rodgers can continue to play near his peak level for the next 5 years or so. Because it's definitely worth it if they get a long term franchise Quarterback out of it. It's like saying the Rodgers draft wasn't worth it until they won the super bowl.
@monophthalmos9633
@monophthalmos9633 8 ай бұрын
@@natewagstaff2516 Not really. The Packers lost the 2020 NFC Championship Game, which was absolutely winnable for them. The next year they lost a close game against the 49ers in the divisional round and would only have had to beat the Rams, whom they had already beaten that year, to make a Super Bowl against the Bengals, whom they also had already beaten that year. Nobody can say for certain that the Packers would have made or won a Super Bowl in either of these years if they had used that first and fourth round pick for other players, but there's a very good chance that they would have.

@@jessecook3378 Sure, Rodgers didn't play well enough at the end of the game and I'm by no means stanning for Rodgers, but there's a lot of blame to go around. The Packers' secondary struggled mightily and they had a hard time running the ball.

Sitting talented QBs works and it was always normal in the NFL before coaching Hubris and shareholder interests took over the game. Love spent 3 years styling his game after Aaron and just needed a season of experience after that valuable time; now its wheels up, Packers did it again lol
