I go to the Ultimate Fishing show every year, they have decent ice fishing selection. Last year was better than previous years but hopefully with better weather this year, we will have an improved selection. Good show for all types of fishing which is sweet and they always have good seminars too.

Watching on Saturday waiting for thicker ice here in SE Wisconsin. I have a Helix 9 Si+ G4N, should I just get a Mega Live or upgrade everything to Mega live 2 or Garmin Livescope? I primarily fish out of an autopilot 120 kayak or ice fish.

Totally your call. If it were me and I was buying right now I would look for a deal on a used Mega live 1 as I'm sure there are some good deals out there as people are looking to upgrade to the Mega Live 2. If you have a bit of time, I would wait another few weeks for some of this new stuff to hit the market and assess price points and what best fits your needs

Missed the live. This video made me decide to subscribe with notifications to your channel. Good video with good content. I checked out Humminbird on Seeking Alpha. Curious on your thoughts on their future and longevity. I am currently a 4 Helix guy looking to upgrade and you brought up good points about Garmin's business future.

I am glad you enjoyed the video and decided to subscribe! Thanks, I will have to do some further looking into Humminbird after this launch that is happening later this month. I think their earnings after this quarter will be interesting to look at and a big tell of what the future looks like. I also have heard rumors of a couple other competitors dropping some stuff that haven't been announced yet that could really stir up Humminbird (not for the better). It's going to be a busy and interesting 2025 for fishing gear & tech!

Shuttle yes, pole no. I am really not a fan of fixed length poles (I think the OG Panoptix PS22 scarred me on them 😂). Shuttle is nice and durable, but I prefer a non-metal shuttle. The Arclab shuttle will be included in my upcoming comparison video, so stay tuned!

Watching from NE SD. Anyone else struggling with ice fishing motivation. Life is so busy and ice fishing is alot of work. Not finding the motivation to get out when i have that rare bit of free time.

I hear ya, believe it or not I get that too at times. I think it honestly is because I always try to bring a ton of gear to try/use/have in case of x, y, or z happening and I might need it or would be nice to have, etc. One thing I am going to try and do this year and film it to see if it can motivate anyone (or works out) is start filming on morning saying I am going fishing, literally grab a bucket, a couple rods, maybe a few jigs, an auger, etc and go with a simple jet sled. Just my 2 cents on it, not sure if you can relate or if it is something else for you. Either way would love to know more as I'm sure others are running into it too

I didn't look that closely, I feel like I've seen that before (not with Frank's) and when you get through checkout it actually pulls sales tax off, but I'm sure some don't, which would be not good. Good eye, something to look at if a person does buy from them
