HG , Salisbury area Reg letters . My 159 was a HG06 . Great work Neil .. I have found that Fiat / Alfa’s do have easy bumper / wings etc to replace compared to other manufacturers.. Back in 2010 I had to replace my front bumper on my Fiat Panda 100hp after a elderly lady in a automatic car at a roundabout engaged reverse instead of drive and backed into me . After the bumper was ordered and painted to my cars body Colour it took me a weekend to strip the old one off , strip the bits I needed off the old one to go on the new one and fit it to my car . All in all including the drivers headlamp bracket repair because that broke in the impact , I was well impressed by the fitting / gaps etc .. You would never known it was fitted by me .

Hi Neil. Having owned, loved and maintained nearly a dozen Alfas since the 80s, I have learned so much over the years using every resource available from Haynes Manuals to the official workshop manuals and in recent years, KZbin. I have to say with all sincerity that your channel has become my go to source for all things Alfa, from inspection advice to significant repairs. It's clear, concise and logically laid out with a mine of information in every episode. I wish I had this years ago. I really appreciate the massive effort you put in to produce this channel which seems to be something of a labour of love as you're not going to be competing with Justin Bieber for subscriber numbers, you will likely only attract certified Alfaholics like myself. (There's no cure btw) Anyway, thanks again and keep it up pal. Cheers. Damien.

Have to say, that turned out really well considering how badly damaged it was. Surprised that it was only panel damage and nothing more structural, suppose that’s a testament to how well built these were !. Think I’d be getting a wheel alignment done next coz, the way those wheels were on the o/s, I’d be surprised if the suspension or steering hasn’t been knocked out of line. It’s nice to see another Alfa saved from the scrapyard to live another day. I have one exactly the same and it’s the best car I’ve owned, by far the best looking estate car ever made, just gorgeous styling. My 159 Sportwagon is the first Alfa I’ve had and I’ve fallen in love with them so much since, I got the missus into a Mito, which she loves, and just got myself a GT to play with when not in my 159 !!. It’s true what they say about these things, your not a petrol head till you’ve had an Alfa. Hope he puts some proper 19” Ti alloys back on it, I know they’re expensive, even used ones, but they finish these cars off beautifully. One day I might even find a decent set for mine !. Great work, cheers for saving it and keep up the great work and videos to help us Alfaholics out.

Last version 159 Tbi 1750 was the best. Base engine of today's Giuliettas QV and 4C, in fact better, Firts 1750cc version has iron block, not aluminum, better for mods and bigger Turbo.

That's the difference between stuff and labour costs between West and Eastern Europe. Here like only the front bumper is missing, fender and bonnet damaged, maybe also front suspension, and the mechanic says he'd have scrapped it. In Middle Europe, we don't scrap cars unless the roof is broken. In Russia even a roof wouldn't be a problem. They'd just weld two cars together, one with the front ripped off, and one with the rear ripped off.

I see these occasionally when driving along, (from the driver's seat of our 156 GTA Sportwagon....) and if you see a nice one of these, that is clearly an enthusiast's car - I think they can look really, really special. If we ever lost the GTA for any reason, then would certainly consider one as a replacement. You hear the odd bad thing about them - being difficult to work on and so on, but that didn't look noticeable more difficult than a 156. I am so pleased this one got saved. I do watch your channel (for obvious reasons) and was mildly surprised that you said early on that you thought it was passed saving. Did you say early on in the video what the mileage was - did I miss it...? Great work by the way....
